Carter is 8!!!

Well our little guy is 8! If you ask him how he feels about it he says it's great to be 8.  Me on the other hand wishes I could slow down the clock! He is growing up so fast! It is sure fun watching our Carter man grow up.  He is hilarious and keeps us laughing and smiling pretty much 24/7.  He is my absolute favorite boy in the entire world.  I probably baby him way too much but why not he is my baby even if he is the big 8 now!
We took some cute pictures of Carter for his baptism invite.  This was one of my favs....
May 2nd this year as on a Wednesday.  Carter woke up bright and early to his decorated door...

Then it was downstairs to see all his decorations and gifts.

All about Carter at 8 years old....
Carter decided to open a couple of gifts before school.  He is really into Mindcraft right now...
and reading!! I can not keep up with his love to read.  He goes through a chapter book a day sometimes 2! I just got his A/R levels and he is 3.5-4.9 so that means he is pretty much reading at a 4th grade level.  Also after the state tests his teacher showed me the results of the class and he is the top reader in the class! His compression scores were the highest and placed him in 4th grade reading.  He is in the top 5 in math.  Oh and a side note Carter got into the GATE program (just like Aubrey) but we have decided to keep them at the school they love for now.
 Back to the gifts....

What are the odds of getting a birthday mini figure in a surprise pack on your birthday!!
Blue pancakes for breakfast....
Birthday's on a school day are fun since you can take a treat to share and wear your new shirt!
I did my teaching in the morning and then got to volunteer in Carter's class before lunch.  Passing out his cookies to his friends.
 Everyone singing to him...
and enjoying with his buddies.  He just loves Cord and Dylan in his class!

Since Aubrey got to go home at lunch time on her birthday so did Carter.  We headed to his favorite lunch spot....
and then came home and played until we had to go back to school and get Aubrey.  Dad got off early that day so we could finish opening gifts and go to Modesto for dinner.

Carter has been wanting a skate board for some time now so he was very excited to get one on his big day.
I got an email from John's Incredible Pizza that they were having a Star Wars themed party from May 2- May 4 for may the 4th be with you.  How perfect is that for our Jedi who LOVES Star Wars?!?! We headed up to Modesto for a very fun night!!

The photo prop area was super cute! We love Star Wars!
We stuffed our faces with tons of Pizza, bread sticks and Ices and the headed to the games.  When Aubrey and I were playing the fishing game I got the crab!! That is over a 1000 tickets! jackpot!
Aubrey was so proud of me!

We played a round of black light mini golf.

and then got to meet Jedi John...
To say we had a blast is an understatement!
We were so busy having fun we forgot to do table prices so we did it in the car on the way home.

Once home it was time for cake.  Well rice krispie cake.  Carter wanted a fidget spinner rice krispie cake so that is what I made...
He loved it!
 and ate the entire thing!
Dear Carter we love you so much and had the best time celebrating your 8th birthday.  You are such a fun, smart, talented, loving, sweet boy! You have the best stories and are so fun to be around.  You are very good at the Floss dance and do it ALL the time!  You actually can do it super fast.  You loves sports and being very active! Any ball you pick up you are super good at it.  You love tetherball, basketball, baseball and soccer.  You are always moving.  You run at lightning speeds and can't wait to be on the track team next year at school.  Like I said before you love to read and have surprised all with how good you are at reading and comprehending what you read.  The librarians at school know you very well.  You still don't eat much but when it comes to chicken nuggets you can out eat us all.  Video games and movies are another one of your favorites.  You also still love art and want to do some kind of craft project everyday.  You still love to cuddle me and always have your blanket near by.  Carter we love you more than words can express.  Happy Happy birthday!
