Paddle Boarding

Week 3 of summer was Carter's paddle boarding class at College for kids.  Carter has been so excited to learn to paddle board!
What makes it so exciting is that our neighbor, Kevin is the teacher!
We had a huge heat wave in Merced this week 6/18-6/25 It got all the way up to 110 one of the days.  I thought I was going to melt away sitting and watching him every day 2:30-4:30 but I survived and I loved being there every day to see him learn to balance, then stand, and then paddle.  It was really cool.
Monday 6/19

Tuesday 6/20
 Wednesday 6/21

Thursday 6/22 was the last class.  Now Carter is a certified paddle boarder.

Other ways we stayed cool that week.  Hamster mazes...

 swimming at Stan's pool.
and a craft day at Michael's.

Father's day 2017

Kind of a bummer that daddy was recovering from surgery Father's day weekend but we still made the best of it.  We did gifts in the morning.

I was pretty proud of this idea I came up with for his office.
Dad was really excited to get a new smart watch.
Daddy was feeling a little bit better to go have a sushi lunch.
That afternoon we watched Power Rangers and then had a yummy ice cream cake to honor our favorite daddy!
Happy Father's day cutie! Our kids are so lucky to have you as their dad!!

Father's Day with my dad!

Our Father's day weekend was up in air since we didn't really know how Spencer would be feeling.  So since he was still not feeling that great just the kids and I went up to Sonora for a day trip to celebrate Father's day with my dad and to see my uncle who was visiting.  Dad took us up to Grovland to see Rainbow pools and out to lunch to a fun saloon.
First up lunch.  People for like a 100 years have been throwing dollar bills up onto the roof.
Rainbow pools was beautiful.  The water was so refreshing but the current scared the heck out of me so I only let the kids stay on the rocks.

There were lots of cliff jumpers.
hanging out on the rocks was much safer!

We then came back to Nana and Papa's for a bbq.
 and gifts.
We were excited to get papa a tent for our upcoming camping trip.
We came home excited to see our daddy up and walking around.  Nana and Papa gave him a great new work shirt.

Carter lost his first tooth!!

Carter has been waiting so so so so long to lose his first tooth! On Friday 6/16 his dreams finally came true!!!
Aubrey lost her first tooth in preschool when she was only 4! She has lost 10 teeth now so Carter being 7 has been waiting and waiting for this day. At dinner his tooth was really lose and was preventing him from eating chicken nuggets which was making him so mad.  After dinner daddy felt it and before we knew it dad pulled it right out.  Carter was beyond excited and still to this day a week later loves to smile and show his big gap.  It was really cute when I heard him ask Aubrey, "where you this excited to lose your first tooth?" how cute is that!
Aubrey helped him write this letter to the tooth fairy.
Saturday morning he woke up and woke all of us up at 6:30am to se that the fairy had come!!
and she even gave him the black fairy door he really wanted!

2nd week of summer

Our second week of summer the kids had one more week of acting and glass fusion class.  This time around I have not been a big fan of college kids.  I've actually been kind of mad.  Aubrey's acting teacher is actually really rude and picked her favorites for a play and made all the other kids just sit on the side lines.  Sorry but I'm not paying $60 to have my kid just sit and watch and not learn anything about acting.  The teacher also yells and was not at all who I wanted my daughter to be around so I called the college and had her transferred into Carter's class.  The first week I was really happy with Carter's class but once Aubrey got into the class I learned that they did a little art but then just played games and watched you tube on the teacher's nieces phone! Man was I mad when I found that out.  I'm hoping their classes in July will be better!  After class on Tuesday we went to the pool.
That afternoon the kids had play dates.
Aubrey had Eve over
 and Carter had Ander over
That night both friends got to stay for dinner.
Wednesday 6/14 we rode our bikes to college for kids.
and Nana came!!!! We were so excited to get to have her over for a night! Spencer was having hernia surgery on Thursday at 7am and him and I needed to be in Turlock so we were so lucky that Nana could come out and watch the kids.
Thursday 6/15 surgery day!  Spencer has been dealing with a hernia since last December! It's just been to busy with sports and vacations to fit his surgery in so we keep putting it off.  It's so hard to find a right time to have dad out of commission! Well the day came and him and I were on our way to the surgery center in Turlock.  He did great! Not scared at all and was all smiles! I on the other hand was a nervous reck (I hate medical stuff)!!
The surgery was really quick only like 45 minutes and before I knew it I was in the recovery room feeding my love ice cubes! The crazy thing is he remembers everything.
 getting ready to go home.
and sure enough we were home before noon! I was so surprised at how quick it all went.  He is a trooper and so good at taking it easy.  I would have been going crazy but he did great and when I got home he had lunch and then just rested in bed all day!
My mom had planned to take the kids to our new trampoline park in Merced on her own but once I got Spencer settled he said I should go with them so I did.
Rock'n Jump is here in Merced!! I was a amazed to being doing something so much fun in merced!! It was so nice and such a fun place!

I even got a massage!
We had a blast! Thanks nana for making it so much fun.
That night we had Panda Express in bed with daddy.  Friday we hung out all day with dad watching movies and relaxing.
