January 1st was a Friday this year. normally we would meet up with the family to celebrate titi's birthday but because of Covid and just getting together at Christmas we decided to just video chat and set up a later time for her to come and visit and celebrate. Since it was our family of four we decided to start the year off right and have a fun day out! We went up to Turlock for the day to go ice skating, shopping, and out to lunch, dinner and for some yummy cookies at a new cookie bakery in town. It was a great day! Dad doesn't like to ice skate so it's nice that he can watch our stuff and take pictures of us. They had to limit the capacity due to covid and we had to wear masks for the most of the time. It felt so nice to get out and do something we all love doing.
The kids are pro skaters!!! Carter was even solving his rubik's cube while skating around.
One of our stops was to the pet store.
On the way home he chose his name, Rango!
Carter is great with Rango and takes such good care of him. We have been having lots of fun learning all about bearded dragons and having a reptile as a pet. He is a great pet.
He even eats with Carter sometimes..
Spencer and I are still having fun picking out new things for our house.
Aubrey had a fun evening at her friends house..
The only negative part of Rango is he eats live crickets!! This took some getting use too but Carter does great garbing them and feeding Rango.

Thursday January 7th we took the kids and their friends up to Turlock to skate again.
They had a blast! Then we went to Habit for dinner.

Friday January 8th Titi came out for the weekend so we could celebrate her birthday!
We had such a fun weekend with her! shopping, eating and watching movies!
Carter helped me take down the Christmas lights and loved being on the roof so much he decided to stay up there and draw...

Monday January 18th was Martin Luther King day so we all had the day off. We went to the park for a picnic and to play and relax..

We took the kids out of school on Thursday January 21st and Spencer took the day off so we could go up to Sonora and go sledding at Leland Snow Park. It was fabulous!!! We actually went up to Sonora on Wednesday and had a sleep over at Nana and Papa's and then had the entire next day up at the snow. The weather was perfect. It was warm but there was snow on the ground. It was the perfect way to play in the snow. The kids loved the sledding. It went super fast so I ended up liking the bunny hill the most. They liked the big ones. This snow park was great! We didn't have to do any climbing up the hill we got to ride what they called the Magic carpet for the bunny slop and then for the big ones they hook up your tube and pull you up. It was really fun and a super great day. So glad papa and Gaga came with us we had a blast!
We made a fun picnic lunch and had an amazing view to enjoy.

Friday January 22nd Carter got invited to a sleep over at Wesley's so we took the opportunity to spoil Aubrey since she has had over a 4.0 for the last 2 quarters!
We took her to the mall...
Then had pizza for dinner and watched a movie she got to pick!
Then ice cream for dessert!
We are so proud of our girl!
That weekend we found the most perfect outside set for our porch...
We also officially completed the kitchen! We hung all the hard wear.

Poor Spencer was a job site and a contractor backed into his car! Thank goodness for insurance! All is fixed now!

Sunday January 31st the whole family came down to celebrate Aubrey's birthday! I can't believe we will have a teenager!! Aubrey got spoiled with gift cards and a super cool gift for her new room!
She was so excited to get a very cool hanging swing for her room...
Papa and dad went straight to work to hang it for her...
It came out really cool!
While we were getting dinner ready the gang all played some games..
Then we all made homemade pizzas...
It was a fun acativity!
Then we played more games and then sang to our teenager!
What a fun celebration!
That night we all watched a show in Aubrey's room. Her new sing is so cool!
