Camp Phoenix Lake 2019

We had our annual Camp Phoenix Lake at Nana and Papa's June 30th-July 3rd.
We look forward to this every summer.
I love this years shirt design I created! We made one for Nana too but she decide to wear her white shirt that day.

On June 30th we got all packed up and headed to the mountains....
Once there the kids were greeted by lots of fun camp surprises!
A fanny pack, compass, sling shot, a journal and tiny waters to fit in their packs. It was so cute and thoughtful!
The kids went right to sling shot practice.  Papa had set up some bottles and cans for the kids to aim at.  They had a blast!

Even us big kids jumped in the fun...

After sling shots we got ready and headed up to the casino for some yummy all you can eat prime rib.  It was so good and the cream puffs were to die for! Nana and I got to play some penny slots while the kids and others went and played in the arcade.
When got home the kids and Nana made monkey bread for our breakfast the next day.
Monday July 1st I woke up early to do a fun cycle class at there cute work out studio downtown.  Once I got home we all enjoyed the monkey bread! It was so yummy!!!
Then we got ready and headed to Walmart to get some food and other fun trinkets.  The kids picked out some cute wooden boats to paint to take on our hike by the river.
After painting we went on our nice long hike.  I love all the trees up there.  It felt like 70 degrees it was such a pleasant nice 3 mile hike.

At one point we hit this bridge that was too scary for the dogs so I had to carry them across.
Carter enjoying his sling shot on the hike...
Time to walk back so the kids launched their boats to float down stream with us...
It was a great hike.  Once we got home Nana had made an awesome BBQ dinner.
After dinner Titi and Aubrey made homemade cookies n' cream ice cream...
Tuesday July 2nd Papa arranged for us to go on a 2 hour horse bake riding trip up in Pinecrest.
It was a  beautiful day! Aubrey was a little nervous since last time we went by a cliff so we asked to stay away from cliffs this time and it was perfect!
Carter's horse was Melissa.  Aubrey rode Alison.  Mine was Vaper. Scott's was Moonshine and Papa rode Forest.  They were all great horses.  Our guide was Garrett and he was awesome!

We all had a great adventure.  It was crazy because there was still some snow on the trails.  It was super neat that we got to ride near the ski lefts of Dodge Ridge.  We also got to see lots of wild flowers and wildlife.
Titi was sweet to watch the dogs while we went riding since she didn't want to ride a horse this time.  Millie escaped from her harness at one point and Titi was so scared she almost lost her but was able to catch her.
After horse back riding we went to Pincrest Lake and had a yummy lunch right on the lake.

When we got home Carter made sorbet with Nana.

We watched a couple movies and had pizza that night.  Then the kids and I went and stayed at Titi's house that night.  I'm so sad I didn't get pictures there.
Wednesday July 3rd we went back over to Nana and Papa's.  Us girls did a girls day which was shopping and lunch while Carter got to go on a boat trip with Papa for the day.

They had a blast and even found an abandoned mine.
Once we all met back up at the house I worked on packing our stuff while Carter played Magic with Gaga.
Camp Phoenix Lake is always so much fun and goes by way too fast.  I love that my dad gets us out doors and exploring.  I love that mom teaches the kids fun cooking ideas and hands on crafts.  We were super lucky this time because Titi took the whole week off to be with us.  We are so blessed to have our family close by and we can do fun trips like this.

 June Newsletter...
Thursday June 6th was the last day of school!

This school year went by way too fast! I feel like I blinked and it was over.  I'm not sure how I feel about Aubrey being the big kid on campus next year in 6th grade and Carter being on the big kid side of the school yard!! ARRGGGGGG Why must they grow so fast?!?!! As you can see in the pictures we are dealing with a pre-teen in our house! We hear more and more that she is too old for that or that she hates whatever we are doing.  Aubrey was sad that school was ending.  She loves being with her friends and I think is a little worried about 24/7 with her mom for the next 3 months. She makes it clear that I'm annoying to her when I'm snapping pictures or trying to do crafty things with her.  I try not to let it bother me and I know in my heart that she loves me and it's just her age.  Since she was depressed that school was ending I told her she could plan an end of the year party for the Saturday after school got out and she was ecstatic so I think that helped with all the sad feelings she had as the year came to an end.
Carter on the other hand was counting down the days until summer and was so so so excited for all the fun stuff we had planned.  He is full of energy and loves the freedom of summer time.  He also loves any time he gets to spend with me so I'm soaking all that love and attention up.  Since he will be probably really sad at the end of summer I will let him plan a back to school party with his friends.
As you can see I'm excited for summer time....

They had a great last day and loved all there special treats waiting at home for them.
Friday June 7th our first day was a day filled with errands around town and finding all the fun stuff we can do this summer.  We went to the library and signed the kids up for a couple fun camps!
Saturday June 8th I had my cycle training in Turlock to become a cycle instructor.
That evening was the "schools out for summer" party!
Aubrey had 8 friends!
Savannah, Kayla, Mia, Aubrey, Presley, Emily, MiKayla, Reid, and Caleb

It was a crazy party!
They had pizza for dinner outside.
played lots of games and watched a movie.
 and did karaoke

We had everyone bring a candy to share and it was crazy how many different kinds of candies we had!
More games! Spencer is so good with all the kids!
At 10 the boys were picked up and then the girls had a sleep over.
 They stayed up until 3am!!!!!
Sunday June 9th was girl scout water slide day at Island water park.

 We had lots of fun!
Yay it's offically summer! Lots of pool days here we come!
Carter and I put our new chair together...
Dad took an afternoon off on June 12th so we went to Secret Life of Pets...
and Costco (Carter has the right way to get around the store)
Thursday June 13th we had Presley over and went to the mall.
The girls were cute and had lunch "alone" while Carter and I had lunch at a table near them.
 Getting ready for Father's day..
Saturday June 15th we celebrated Father's day with my dad in Modesto.
We did the most fun Escape room ever! It was so well done.  There were 3 different rooms and tons of props it was awesome!

Then we went to dinner at Tahoe Joe's which was so yummy!

 The Dad's
Sunday June 16th we celebrated Spencer all day!

Aubrey made him this cool pot and planted a cactus.  She designed it all herself.

Carter made dad a mini cactus and a box to hold all their Magic cards which they love playing together.

Monday June 17th was the first day of Park camp for both Aubrey and Carter.  It's a day camp put on by the city.  We were a little worried if the kids would like it or not but they LOVED it and we might sign up for another week before the summer is over.
The camp is 8-12:30 so we still had time to hit the pool in the afternoon.
These puppies are too cute for words!
Wednesday June 19th was Carter's friend Noah's birthday.  Carte got to go to Rockin Jump with him and out to dinner.  It was also Carter's first time staying over at friends house for the night.  He did great.  He forget to pack his PJ's so it was fun that I got to go over and give him a hug at 10pm.
Friday June 21st the camp went to the zoo.  Since I needed to pick Aubrey up early for a party I got to sneak into the zoo and take a couple pics.

That afternoon Aubrey got to go to a party at In N Out and then bowling...
I took Carter to the new park in town and to check out the skate park.

Monday June 24th was the first day of college for kids camp.
Aubrey wanted to do Basketball camp....

 Carter did diving....

They both had a great week and we still had time in the afternoon to do some more fun stuff like making vision boards...

Playing with Carter's June science kit and working on a 2000 piece puzzle..

and we made 4th of July garlands...

The last day of camp they got certificates look at the difference between Aubrey and Carter when I want to take a picture....

When we are not in public I get a pretty smile....
Friday 28th Spencer drove to the bay area to get mom for the weekend so the kids and I had a lunch date to Chipotle...
Saturday the 29th we took grandma to the new Toy Story 4 which we all loved!

 and out to ice cream!
Sunday June 30th we all went to church and then the kids and I drove up to Sonora to start Camp Phoenix Lake.....
