Mother's Day 2014

My heart was so full Mother's day week.  I felt so honored to be a mother and so proud of the little people I  have made.  Being a mom to Aubrey and Carter is my most favorite job and I feel so blessed that I get to do it.
My Mother's Day week started off with a mother/daughter tea with the Girl Scouts.

It was a very cute afternoon and fun to share it with Aubrey's best friends, Kendall and Advaitaa and their moms who I have become really close with.

They asked the girls to decorate their hats.  Check out my crafty daughter:
She wanted flowers and bees it was her idea to use the pipe cleaner wires.

The Friday before Mother's day I was spoiled!!! 2 class room parties.  I was so happy that timing worked out so perfectly.  Carter's party 9-11 and Aubrey's started at 11:10 how perfect is that!  Thanks to Murun for taking Carter after the party such a big help!
Carter made me a frame and then we took our picture together.  I love how he choose this pose.
Then we took a picture with our best friends.
It has been so much fun doing the preschool this year with my best friends, Murun and Susan.  It has helped me having them there when we have to deal with the crazy rules and teachers sometimes.
The mom's in charge of the party did a great job setting up the room and making us moms feel special.
We enjoyed a yummy waffle bar and listening to the kids sing for us.
Then onto Aubrey's school.  My goodness was I impressed! All the moms waited in the front of the school and then we were escorted to the class room, btw only Ms. Stapp's class does this, I felt really special.  Then we came into the room all the kids were lined up so cute.  We got a lemonade and then sat in there desk while they presented a show.  ADORABLE! They must have sang 8 or more songs I got it all on tape and just treasure it.  I was so impressed with how well the kids new the songs, arm movements, dances and just how well they stood still.

After the show we go to open the gifts they made and then enjoy strawberry pizza together.
It was nice looking around the class room and seeing all the moms there.  It was very special.

This is Hector and Aubrey they sit next to each other.
Aubrey wasn't to thrilled that I took this picture and after whispered in my ear "mom that was awkward!" I love it for the memory.  When school first started she would complain that Hector was always poking her with his spiky hair when he would bend down to get his pencil.
I really hope Advaitaa and Aubrey stay close friends they are adorable and in this picture they are living up to their nicknames of purplicious and pinkalicious.
After the party I stayed for lunch and playtime with Aubrey.
It was beyond wonderful of a day! I cried in the car that afternoon feeling so blessed.  It is so hard watching your babies grow up but it also is amazing and rewarding to see them look at you with so much love and know that as they get older they can express it more.  Aubrey is my little best friend.  I love talking and cuddling with her all the time.  She is just such an amazing daughter with so much love and sassyness.  Carter is my little sweet heart.  He loves always holding on to me and hugging me as tight as he can and giving me lots of kisses.  I'm the luckiest mom in the world.

Mother's Day weekend I got to spend with my amazing mom!  We decided we needed an afternoon of pampering all together.  It was so much fun spending great quality girl time together.
 Our nails came out beautiful!
After nails we went shopping.  It was a great afternoon.  We than came home to a clean house.  I mean spotless! Spencer did an awesome job cleaning everything.  He also had appetizers out for us and was cooking dinner it was amazing and I felt like royalty.
On to opening gifts:

And then dinner time! Spencer made tri-tip sandwiches, potato wadges, green salad and mom and dad brought fruit salad it was amazing.
The kids also made me really cute plates that I have displayed in the dinning room.  Mother's day is so much fun! I love that I have an amazing mother that has taught me so much and that is always there for me.  I love you mom with all my heart!  I love that I get to be a mom to two great kids that I love making wonderful memories with.
Happy Mother's day to all the great mother's out there!

Carter's Birthday at School

We celebrated Carter's birthday at school on Monday May 5th.  The preschool always does a nice job with celebrating birthdays.  Carter was child of the week all week which meant he had his pictures displayed on the wall and all the kids wrote letters to him all week long.
Mrs. Rodriguez is a great artist and makes beautiful crowns for the birthday kid with what ever they would like painted on the side.  I though for sure Carter would ask for Lightning McQueen or Dusty the crop hopper but instead he decided on a Lego monster truck that him and his dad put together the weekend before.  When Mrs. Robbins asked what he wanted on his crown (before he saw it) he says, "Dusty or happy cars?" Mrs. Rodriguez said, "What?!?!" and was really surprised but when he saw the truck he was excited.  It was cute and he loved it!
After the singing Carter and I went outside to pass out his gifts to all his friends.
He wanted to pass out bubbles to all his friends and he made the tags.
We then got to take his mail home in the mail bag.
It was a fun day!!

Carter's Party

Carter's party was awesome! It was an absolute joy to plan.  I was so excited when he chose a Dusty the Crop hopper (Disney Airplanes) party.  For those of you that don't know I'm an aviation junky! I just love airplanes and airports.  I graduated with a B.S. in Aviation from SJSU in 2003.  I was a flight attendant for a couple years after college and even living in the small town of Merced I was able to find an aviation job at Gemini Flight Support at Castle airport.  I have worked there for 6 years and let me tell you having friends at the airport pays off when your kid wants an airplane birthday party!
I made these boarding passes for his invitations:
It was definitely different planning a party that was not at my home.  I was nervous that things would not all come together but it did and it was amazing! We had his party at the new terminal.  It was a perfect location! My friend Sam rents the building and he was a big help getting it all ready and bringing his DC-4 over so the kids could climb in and take a tour.  He also arranged for a B-25 to be parked in the background and it made for a beautiful backdrop in all the pictures.  Carter picked 16 friends to come.  We also had our family and family friends there.  Since Dusty is orange and turquoise that was the color scheme I went with.  My wonderful sister made the very adorable cake.
Don't you just love his Aviator shirt!!!  He is one handsome pilot!
Thanks to all my helpers we got everything done before all the guest arrived.
I made personalized pilot wings for each of the kids to wear and they were on the this table.  The wind was pretty crazy on this side of the building so it was hard to display it the way I had envisioned it in my mind.

I love how Carter is marshaling in the B-25.
 Let the fun begin!!
Sam had a BBQ for us to use.  Spencer made the hot dogs and my mom made her famous potato salad.  We also had chips, fruit salad and clouds in the sky (blue jello and cool whip).
After lunch we toured the DC-4.

We had our jump house there too.
Craft time! We made Dusty planes.
Pin the propeller on Dusty was our game.

Time for gifts.  Carter's friends and family were so generous.  He loved everything!!!
Thank you, Thank you!!

Nana and Papa surprised him with his first big boy bike!! Look at the face!
He was very excited!!! He loves it and I love it too he goes on at least a 1 mile bike ride everyday which allows me to do my jog a long side.
My sister really amazes me with her talent for baking and decorating.  This cake was adorable and delish!! We ate it all that day.
Gaga teaching Carter how to ride his bike.
After cake my boss Jim came down with the fuel truck.  The kids where very excited.
I was surprised when he pulled Carter in to the truck and let him honk the horn and than drive the truck on the ramp!
Jim then took 2 more trips with the kids that wanted to go for a ride.  I was a little nervous with them driving on the ramp.  I actually had another friend that offered to come by in his plane and take the kids up for a flight but I said no to that.  That would be way to scary for the parents me included!

Time for the Pinata.
I made chocolate planes for the party favor and they came out really cute.

After everyone left and we cleaned up we took some family pictures by the plane.

This is what happens after a day like that:
It was a great day!!!! Really fun and a memory I never want to forget.  I'm sad that it's over I had so much fun planning it.  I think Carter really had the time of his life.  Thank you for all that came and helped.  We got to have Titi over that night and it was fun continuing the party after hours.
