My Birthday

My 31st birthday was fabulous!!!! My birthday was back on November 3rd. I had a wonderful day and week following it. I find myself trying to get everyone to celebrate the whole month of November, haha. My special day was a Thursday this year and I had a MOPS meeting in the morning. Looking back on it now Spencer did ask me a lot a questions like, what time is the meeting? When will you be home? ect. I had no idea when I would come home I would find this:
It was very neat to have the whole downstairs decorated and I had NO idea. After MOPS we ended up meeting for lunch and that is when Spencer surprised me with having the afternoon off. When we got home I opened my gifts. I was very spoiled.
Aubrey made me an adorable card with Oswald on it (that is her favorite show right now). I also got lots of wonderful things that I have been wanting and many surprises.
Whats a birthday without table prizes?
After gift opening I thought it would be a lot of fun to take Aubrey to a movie. Carter is still too young to sit through a 2 hour movie so I had a great idea to see if Emily would like to join us and in return Carter could go over and nap at Jessica's house. It worked out great, thank you Jessica. We went and saw Puss In Boots.
It was a a very funny movie. We all enjoyed it. After picking up Carter we did some shopping, had dinner and cake.
My birthday day was perfect!!! I also had a wonderful birthday weekend. One gift of many from my parents was a whole day of baby sitting so Spencer and I could have a date day Saturday. We went down to Fresno and shopped until we dropped and ate dinner at my favorite restaurant, Cheese Cake Factory. Thanks mom and dad!!
Before my birthday on the 1st a group of my friends took myself and my "twin" Jessica out for our birthdays. We had a wonderful time celebrating and having a girls night out.
Thank you everyone for making me feel so special!!! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family and an amazing group of friends.

Carter is 18 Months

Our little man is 18 months today!!!! Time flies when you are having fun! He is doing so good and growing up every day. As everyone knows, he loves anything with wheels and carries a monster truck at all times. He has been in love with one of his truck books. We each read to him about a dozen times a day. It's so cute when he comes over and makes himself comfortable on your lap and gives you the book. Carter loves to dance. At Aubrey's dance class he will stand up and try to move with the girls. Today he even was trying to tap dance. Carter is starting to say more and more each day. Yesterday when getting in the car he grabbed his sippy cup from me and said "juice" Aubrey was so proud of him. She clapped and gave him lots of encouragement, it was so cute. Carter looks up to his "sissy" all the time. Anything that his sister is doing he wants to do and makes it very known to mommy and daddy to not forget him. Carter is a big climber and a furniture mover. We always have to keep one eye on him because he will be on the kitchen table before you know it. Carter has always been an excellent sleeper, but recently has stopped taking two naps a day. His schedule, as of a day or two ago, is wake up at 7am, nap from 1pm-4pm and sleep at 7pm. Carter loves strawberries, chicken and bread right now. Not too fond of vegetables so I have to figure out a way to sneak those in. Carter has 7 teeth right now but I think a couple more are on their way. He loves to help and whenever he is carying something or pushing something big he grunts. He cracks us up and we love him to pieces. Some other words we have heard him use are:

Daddy

Sissy

Deuce

shoe

juice

Bye

Hi

We have his 18 month doctors appointment next week so I will post his stats then. We are so proud of our little guy. We can't believe that he is already a year and a half.

Happy Half Birthday Carter Man!!!
* oh and by the way he can point to his nose, head, mouth and eyes when asked. He also nods yes and no.

Halloween

Finally Halloween night was here!! Spencer actually teaches on Monday nights so we had to do our Halloween night in fast foreword. It was a lot of fun and very busy. We went over to the annual Harvest festival at Yosemite Church. We had hot dogs, played games and jumped in the bounce house.
Then on to some good old Trick or Treating. It was so much fun walking around the neighborhood as a family. Carter did walk into one house but we knew them so it was funny. We all had a blast.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

Halloween food

One of my big goals this Halloween was to make a special Halloween dinner. Sunday night Spencer and I made mummy meatloaf, ghost mashed potatoes, carrot witch fingers and a monster mouth out of an apple. It turned out cute but it was a lot of extra work and I'm not to sure that the kids really understood what was going on. It was good practice for next year.
On Halloween I took the kids to the doughnut shop for breakfast and for lunch we did bagels and cream cheese. I died the cream cheese orange and gave them raisins to decorate it like a jack o lantern. That was a big hit!
Aubrey put on Carter's hat and her sun glasses I thought she looked like a movie star trying to be under cover.
What a silly girl.

Pumpkin Patch take two

While Titi was in town we manged to find some time to go check out our local very cute, Bear Creek pumpkin patch. The kids had fun running around and us grown ups enjoyed watching them and checking out all the unique pumpkins. I also enjoyed trying to get good pictures it was a challenge but we got a few cute ones.
