Family Spring Pictures

I have wanted family spring blossom pictures for years now.  Pretty much ever since we moved to the valley and I saw how beautiful the blossoms on the almond trees are here.  I was so happy I got Aubrey's baptism pictures last year but we still had never done family ones.  I had it lined up for a photographer friend to do them for a small cost but Spencer was anti that and said he likes doing them ourselves so much more.  One day I will get professional ones done but for now it's all us and a tripod.  I must say they came out pretty good and if I didn't know we did them ourselves I would think a professional did do them.  There is a quick window when the blossoms are in full bloom and I think we got them right at the prime time this year.  We went in-between all our activities on Saturday March 4th.  I love my sweet family of 4!

Happy Birthday Spencer

Hard to believe my man is getting into his late 30's! He is officially 37 now!! Whats crazy is we both feel like we are 18! We think it's because we have known each other since we were 12.  We really feel so young and as the years go on it really just is a number.  We had a great time celebrating daddy all day long on his birthday Friday March 3rd.  The kids begged to have the day off but since daddy had to work the kids went to school and it gave me time to work on Spencer's favorite cake.  The day started off with his favorite kind of breakfast.
The kids had fun decorating the night before.  They went with a pizza theme party since daddy loves pizza! We had fun wrapping and getting him all his favorite things!  We all couldn't wait for the evening so we oped before work and school.

I knew Spencer had a meeting out of the office so I snuck in to drop off some balloons and candy.
He loves his birthday because he gets the homemade carrot cake that I make which he just loves!

a little selfie action.  I curled my hair for the occasion
After cake the opened their table prizes.  With Spencer money he got from his parents for his bday he bought a new Nintendo switch and we surprised the kids with it and with games.  They wee so excited!
Then we took daddy to Sizzler for his bday dinner.
That night we played games, ate more cake and enjoyed being us.
I will just add what we did for his birthday weekend into this post..
Saturday was back to basketball games in the morning.
In the afternoon Aubrey had a party and Carter was invited for a play date so Spencer and I got to go on a date.  I surprised him with the idea of going to a gun range.  I have never shoot a gun and I'm actually really scared of them but I knew that he liked doing it back in boy scouts so I thought it might be a fun date activity.  Man was it loud and scary! Spencer said the date reminded him of the show the bachelor because they do fun dates like this.  Also because this was a fear I was overcoming which they do on the show a lot.  Spencer was a pro! He went straight to it.  We first shoot a 9mm and that made me really scared so we went to a 22 and that was much better for me.

I even got a bulls eye.
Not sure if I will be going back again any time soon.  It was fun but really scary.  After our date we picked up the kids to have some Sushi for dinner.
That night Aubrey and I did some crafts while the boys played games.
Sunday we had church and then we came home and did a little gardening.  The kids were excited to plaint strawberries, watermelon and carrots.
