Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Aubrey's first kindergarten field trip was to the Vista Pumpkin Patch on Friday the 18th.  All week I would hear " I'm so excited to ride in the yellow bus, play with all my friends and not do work."  The day finally came and thanks to daddy taking the morning off I was able to tag along.  All 5 kindergarten classes at Peterson went on this field trip so there were a lot of kids.  I must say that Ms. Stapp has the BEST class.  I have been just devastated that I have not had the opportunity to volunteer in the class room yet.  Ms. Stapp is very organized and has her way of doing things so she has not let parents be in the class room yet.  I have been assured that I will be working there soon so hopefully I will find out at our parent teacher conference tomorrow.  I was very grateful that I could chaperon at this event.  The kids were just wonderful! So adorable and their manners are great.  It was a perfect day.
Aubrey and her friend Joanne

This was just too cute!! Story time with milk and cookies.  (The milk was from our local dairy)
Time to play games and guess what Aubrey, Caleb, Joanne and Jayla did?
Learning about the vegetables that grow at the Vista.
 Our tour guide was fabulous!!!

They even did the corn maze!
Playing in the corn with Advatia and Avery.  Playing in the cotton with the twins Mallory and Avery and Caleb.
Hay ride.
 Lunch time.
Ms. Stapp was all about doing group shots, I love it!!!

Great day filled with many wonderful memories!!!

Downtown Halloween Festival

While our poor little Deucie was recovering at the vet we took the kids down town for the annual Halloween Festival.  It was hard to be happy and have fun but I tried my hardest for our cute cheerleader and Captain America.  They loved all the games and wearing their costumes.  It was nice to get out of the house and get our minds off of everything.

Look who found the hula hoop station....

When it was time to pick up Deuce it was nice to all go as a family.

The worst afternoon ever!!!

Yesterday Oct. 17 has got to be my worst afternoon ever!!  Carter and I go on walks almost everyday.  Usually in the mornings and sometimes in the late afternoon after Aubrey gets off school but for some reason yesterday we decided to go on a walk after lunch instead of taking a nap and I'm kicking myself for it! We went on our normal route which is on the bike path behind our house.  There is a family that lives at the end of the court that have a huge German Shepherd.  Their dog has gotten out of their yard a few times and we have found her in our front yard.  It's pretty scary to see a huge dog in your yard when you are taking the garbage out so I have tried to avoid her but have been told she is a sweet non aggressive dog.  Yesterday I saw them in the distance out on a walk with their dog also.  The dog wasn't on a leash and I thought if they didn't think she needed a leash its probably fine and we are a long way away so we continued walking.  Also they were on the sidewalk walking towards their house while we were walking away from the homes.  The next thing I remember hearing was the owner yelling her name and I turned around and she was charging at us.  My first thought was to get carter out of the way and thank goodness he demanded to have his seat belt on because he was contained and I could deal with what was happening between the dogs.  Next thing I knew the German Shepard was attacking Deuce.  It was awful!!!!! The worst thing I have ever seen in my life.  It was like the dog was eating him alive it was just terrible! I was scamming my lungs out and trying to get them to stop.  I thought for sure she was killing my dog.  I can't really remember what happened next but some how I got Deuce away from her killing jaws.  Deuce was hyperventilating and if you could imagine a dog screaming that is what he was doing.  He was soaked in saliva and I was looking every where for blood and the fact that he wasn't gashing blood I thought how could this be??? Then I lifted up his extra skin by his sholder blads and saw a huge deep cut its was so bad.  The neighbor finally came over and said "lets jump in my truck and take him to the vet my wife will watch your boy"  I think not!!!! Who would ever trust their child with a random stranger that has a vicious dog.  So I ran caring deuce pushing Carter back home.  We got in the car and made a mad dash to our vet.  I was reassured that Deuce wasn't losing to much blood and that he was aware of his surrounding.  Our vet was fabulous and took him right in and calmed me down.  They ran xrays and gave him pain medication.  The xrays came back clear and it was just a surface cut, what a huge blessing for that news.  The neighbor ended up calling and saying he would come down and take care of the cost.  Deuce had to go into surgery and be stitched up.  He had a drain put in for the fluid.  We got to pick him up late last night.  He is doing good considering all he has been through.  I spent last night up with him most the night and today either Spencer or I have been home with him all day.  We are so thankful our little guy is still with us.  It's amazing that he made it through this horific event and we thank Heavenly Father so much!!

Deuce is an amazing dog!! He has survived a home robbery, cancer and now this.  We love you Deuce!!  We pray that he will recover and be back to his playful self very soon.

The Vista Ranch and Cellars

Last Saturday we spend the day with our good friends the Sharps out at the Vista.  I'm pretty much a pumpkin patch junkie.  I love fall!! I love the colors and I love pumpkin patch's!

I think we have a World record holder in hula hoops.  This girl is amazing!!!!! They have hula hoops at school and she made it her goal to be good at it and she sure is! She can do it for 10minutes straight.  She can walk around and do it and she can do multiple hoops at a time.  I need to record her and post it on YouTube it really is amazing.

Halloween Carnival

For our relief society activity this month we decided on a chili cook off/Halloween carnival/costume fashion show.  It was a big success and the kids had a blast breaking in their new Halloween costumes.

Girl Scouts

Our life wasn't busy enough so we added something else lol.  Aubrey was very excited to become a Daisy in the Girl Scouts a couple weeks ago.  It's fun for her and I have to have an activity to do together with other mom's and daughters.  We met once a week for an hour and there are other activities going on all month that we can choose to be part of such as, services for others, roller skating, camping, seasonal activities, parades and much much more.

Mrs. Michelle is our head leader and she is great!!! It's awesome that she is also the PTC president at Peterson and we have become friends.
