The Kitchen

We did it! We finally painted our kitchen cabinets. I have been wanting to do this for oh about 6 years, since we moved in! Well a couple of Wednesdays ago I decided we had waited long enough and started calling around for prices and after talking to Kelly Moore paints and finding out that if we use an oil based primer we didn't need to sand I was all about getting this done asap. So Thursday we bought the supplies and Friday we pulled all the cabinets off, cleaned with tsp and painted the first coat of primer. It was a very stinky primer so we had to keep all the windows and doors open and it was rainy that weekend so it made for a very cold house. I was proud with how we used our time Saturday to get most of the project done. Spencer worked in the morning while I took the kids out for errands then he took them out for errands around lunch time so I could work and then we both worked through nap time. We took a break in the evening and then once we got the kids a sleep that night we worked into the late hours together. The next few days we worked off and on when we could and before we knew it we were all done and enjoying our fruits of our labor the following Wednesday. It took us less than a week! I'm so proud of us! I'm also so proud of my husband and his amazing workmanship and the detection that he puts into all his projects. I was very thankful to my kids for being good sports while we worked and I'm proud of me for not giving up and just letting Spencer do all the work this is one project that I did really help from beginning to end.
Here are the pictures:
The kids all bundled up in our cold house.
Sunday night we were able to cook like normal and even made some rice krispie treats.
27 cabinet doors and 11 drawer fronts. It felt like it was never going to end.
Before After
Some more after pictures in the day time and night:
We are enjoying our new kitchen very much. I find myself getting excited when I drive into the garage knowing I will walk into my "new" kitchen. This was a huge transformation and very affordable we did the whole project for $120.00!!!!

Sister-in-Laws Craft Day

Saturday January 14th I invited all my local sister-in-laws over for a craft day. They all came down to Merced early in the morning. Our first stop was Hobby Lobby were we shopped until we dropped (2 hours) it was great. Then on to a wonderful lunch and home for crafting. I put together three different crafts. We made countdown blocks, monogrammed coasters and etched jars. It was a wonderful day of chatting, crafting, and enjoying time together.
Aubrey even joined in and made a pretty pink block.
It was a fun day and I'm looking forward to do it again very soon. I just love watching my cutie pies sleep and I always say I should get a picture. Here they are:
The same weekend of the craft day. Aubrey was still getting better from a very high fever and flu and to make her feel better daddy put on a magic show. It was so much fun to watch. Daddy is very good at magic!

Sunbeam

Can you believe our little Aubrey is a Sunbeam?!?!
She now goes to primary and loves it!
It feels like our kids are growing up way to fast!! Poor Aubrey has only been able to go to class once this year due to being out of town and sick two Sundays in a row. We hope February is a better month!

Train Table

For Christmas Nana and Papa gave Carter the Thomas the Train starter kit and he was so excited!!! He loves "Choo Choo's!!!" Spencer loves it too so we decided that it would be great to get him his own train table for his room. We are all having so much fun playing with Carter and enjoying our new toys.
I love the princess and all the pink in our house but I'm loving all the fun boy stuff too. Carter has quite the monster truck collection thanks to Grandmas and Grandpa. Carter loves these cars he carries one around at all times.
Fun pictures at the park the other day:

Happy Birthday Titi

Titi's Birthday is January 1st and we were lucky to be able to celebrate with her! We meet up for a yummy dinner at Red Lobster in Modesto with the whole family.

New Years Eve

For New Years Eve we went out to dinner with our good friends the Mackins to Pocket 8's. It was a great show and outstanding food. After dinner we went over to their house for games. It was so much fun.
Earlier that day the kids and I made hats to wear that night.
They didn't really stay on so we pulled out the New Years headbands. After our game night we came home for our traditional New Years celebration of watching the ball drop, cream puffs and sparkling cider.
After our 9pm celebration (which is late for the kids) we did fireworks in our backyard.
Happy New Year!

After Christmas fun

This Christmas season was the BEST!! Spencer took off a few extra days and we had so much fun enjoying every minute together. Aubrey got some money for Christmas so she went shopping and got a new game for her LeapPad all on her own.
I thought this was an adorable picture of Carter enjoying some good old AppleBees.
We took lots of walks and enjoyed Carter's new trike and Aubrey's scooter.
