dinosaurs/earthquake/volcano and cupcake class

Session 3 of college for kids started on July 10th and goes until July 20th.  The kids are so excited for their classes these two weeks.  Carter decided on the dinosaurs/earthquake/volcano class and is loving it!! The teacher is wonderful and he is learning some really cool stuff.  His class is in the morning 9:30am-10:50am.  Here are some of the fun stuff he has made.... (more pictures to come in a future post since they are still in the classes for another week)

Aubrey is taking Cupcake class again this year and LOVES it! It's a different teacher which is fun since she is learning some new things.  I love it because she brings home yummy cupcakes everyday! Here class in the afternoon 1:00-2:20. The teacher has a theme for each day...
Monday grill day...
 Tuesday was beach day

Wednesday farm day
Thursday ice cream/birthday day

 Friday there is no classes.
Having Carter start at 9:30am means we have to leave early so most days Aubrey is still in her pj's.  This day we took chub's for a ride.
Also this week the kids made a really cool string initial art for their rooms.

So proud of my creative kids!

4th of July 2017

Our 4th of July was pretty laid back this year.  Usually we do a big Supinger party but we all together on Sunday July 9th for our nephews homecoming.   Also we sometimes do a Schillerstrom party but since we all went camping the weekend before we decided on a quiet 4th just the four of us well kind of since we still did do stuff with friends.  The kids looked so cute in their patriotic outfits even Lea looked adorable.
On July 3rd we got our bikes all ready for the wards breakfast and bike parade.
We also bought our fireworks for a small family firework show that day.
On the real day, Tuesday the 4th we got ready and went to the church pancake breakfast.  Breakfast was a huge disappointment we were a little late and pretty much all the food was gone and what was left made the kids gag so we didn't eat anything.  Also Aubrey wanted to bring her doll which ended up being me holding her doll while she did the bike parade.  The doll attracted some different types of people wanting to talk to me about dolls and even a friend made a real insensitive comment to me saying she thought I dressed and brought a doll since I can't have anymore babies! who says stuff like that??!??  Church people can be so strange sometimes. Oh well I tried to not let mean comments bug me and let the kids have fun riding their bikes.

After the breakfast we came home and worked out, had lunch and watched Pitch Perfect.  Then went to the Callister's pool for some pool time and games.

That evening we went out with our good friends to dinner.  We decided on a good kid friendly place, Sonic.  It was so yummy and I wondered why we haven't gone there in so long.  The kids just love playing on that silly snap chat I jumped in for some fun with them while we waited for our food.

After dinner went to the Atwater airport for the best firework show ever.  It was a lot of fun!

 What a great day!
Wednesday July 6th we declared it fun hair day! I took Aubrey to get a cut and she wanted some layers.  She has been begging to dye a strand of her hair pink for so long.  I had her do some chores and she earned it.  We found out about a dye that last 5 washes with no chemicals and is not bad for her hair so she was really excited.

Carter wanted dyed hair too and I said he has to wait until he is 9 and also earn it.  But he has said that he wanted a logo in his hair for a long time so I thought why not. There is a really neat old fashion barber shop by our house so I thought I would try it out.  Man did I feel out of place when we walked in! It was all men, a very strong cologne aroma, video games, and beer.  Carter was hilarious and looked up at me and said, "mom this is my kind of place it's a man place!" I couldn't hold in my laughter!! Well they asked if we had an appointment and we didn't so we said no we just wondered how much a design would be.  Carter's hair was a little long on the sides and since daddy cuts his hair I asked how long they wanted us to cut it and we would and we would bring him back next time for the design.  Well before I knew it a man stood up and started cutting Carter's hair for free and then the artist came over and worked his magic.
30 minutes and $15 later we had one very happy boy!

Daddy was very surprised when he came home from work to see what we had been up too.  That night we had a BBQ and did our own fireworks at home.
It was a great show put on by Carter and daddy!
I might as well add some other fun pictures to this post:
I was pretty proud to get my visiting teaching done by July 6th this month and with the cute gift I gave away to our sisters.
Loving our gym pool!
 Carter making rice Krispie treats.
Saturday July 8th we went to the new Spiderman movie!! So good! Carter did say that there where 9 bad words in it though.

Summer slow down we are having way too much fun!!!

Camping

Our family camping trip was Friday June 30th-July 2nd up at Pincrest Lake.  We had so much fun.  Packing for camping is crazy! Spencer was shocked at how full our car got and kept asking me, "is this the last bag?" He at one point was getting pretty mad and said "we are bringing more then we bring on a week long trip to Disneyland!!"  It's different when you not only have to pack clothes but also have to pack living quarters, food, entertainment and clothes! It fills up fast!  Our drive up the mountains was crowded but still fun!
Once we got to our beautiful campsite B28 we saw Papa and Gaga already there set up.  They helped us unpack and then we went straight into building the tent.
Our campsite was amazing! It was huge and very shady.  You can see Papa's red tent in the distance and then Gaga's tent was on the other side of us so we were right in the middle.  I love the Pincrest camp ground.  We have never gotten a site that we didn't like.
Once we got the tent up Spencer and I started cooking dinner while the kids, papa and gaga went to the general store to get firewood.  How fun to get to go in Papa's jeep with out a roof.

Once everyone got back to camp we had dinner.  We made polish sausage, hot dogs, macaroni salad, watermelon and we tried chili cheese fries on the campfire for the first time which were really fun and super tasty.
After dinner we took a walk over to the lake.  I'm so glad we did it because it was so beautiful and calm.  The next day it was so crowded so this was a nice peaceful experience.

We then went back to camp and enjoyed a campfire with marshmallow's, smores and scary stories.  Carter was so cute telling the big toe story to all of us.  I also never will forget my gandma's yellow bucket!
Saturday July 1st we all woke up around 8am excited for a fun day.  Spencer made and amazing breakfast of bacon and eggs.
I attempted another pintersest find of orange cinnamon rolls in orange peels.  Though they look yummy and amazing they came out tasting really weird and smokey.
We then packed our bags for a hike around Pincrest.  We all started on the trek but Spencer and the kids stopped around mile 1.  Gaga, Papa, Deuce and I continued on and made all around the lake around 5 miles total.

 It was beautiful.
Deuce did really well considering all the ups and downs and rocky terrain.
Once we made it all the way around we found the rest of the family plus, Nana and Titi at a nice shady spot near the lake.  We all had a picnic lunch and the kids did a little swimming and playing in the sand.
I was a little disappointed with the amount of people at the lake, all the drinking and the scandalous bathing suits.  Not sure if the 4th of July brought out some weirdo's or what but we had a group right next to us that had barley any clothes and said the F word every other word.  Also the amount of huge blow ups in the lake was ridiculous!  I mean come on a huge swan or unicorn? or the best was a gigantic blow up bull riding device, come on!  It was too bad. I don't think it affected the kids (I like to think not) that much and they had fun playing in the sand.
After the lake we headed back to camp.  Aubrey and Papa worked on a cute American girl campsite.  While the rest of hung out and ate candy.
 How cute is that campsite!
For dinner that night my dad had the idea to go to Mia's a really neat restaurant just 5 minutes away from camp.  It was a nice treat to go out while camping.  Spencer and I shared a salad and pizza and it tasted the best!
What was also really cool is how dog friendly they were! Deuce got to come and enjoy with us and even got his own bowl of water.
After dinner we said good bye to Nana and deuce (he needed anight in A/C on a bed, LOL) and headed back to camp.  I got to have a turn riding in Papa's cool ride! I want a jeep now!
Once back at camp we hung out for a little bit and then went to the outside theater to see the new Minion movie.  Which was hilarious!

That night we got back to camp at around 10pm.  On our way back to camp some how Spencer and the kids got split up from us and got lost! My sister and I eventually got in the car and had to go find them so that was a little bit of an adventure! After we were all back at camp we said good night to Titi and Gaga since they were going back to Sonora and then we went to bed.
Sunday July 2nd we woke up and made pancakes and then started the fun job of packing up.  The kids had made friends with our neighbor campers so that helped them stay busy while we packed.

Once everything was packed we headed down the mountain, picked up deuce and got home around noon.  Then all the laundry and unpacking started!
It was such a fun weekend away.  I absolutely love my childhood memories of camping so I'm so glad we are able to create these memories with our kids.  I'm so grateful that we get to camp with my dad and hear stories of when he camped as a kid.  It's just the best!
