The Diggins

On Friday May 18th we took the day off of school to go on a field trip up to Columbia.  Every year they turn Columbia into the 1800's, it's called the Diggin's.  We have gone a couple years but it had been a while so I'm so glad it worked out with our schedules to take a trip up and get to experience it with the family.  The day was so much fun.  The weather was perfect and it wasn't over crowded.  There were a lot of school groups there but that was okay.  We had a nice picnic lunch.  Titi even got to take her lunch break with us then we headed into the Diggin's.  We traded our money for Eagles and left on an adventure.

The kids loved learning about gold mining.
and getting to climb in a hole.
 I loved all the costumes.
The kids got to try doing laundry.
I wish they were that excited to do it at home...

They played some of the games they played back then...

We got to pet a chicken..
and then enjoyed spending their eagles on some fun gifts and root beer.

After our fun day we went back to Nana and Papa's to carve and hang out.
What a fun learning trip!
