Spring Break 2014

Oh was I happy for spring break this year.  It was late this year since Easter was so late.  We needed some time off school and the usual day to day schedule.  Spencer also had the week off of teaching so that was a treat until we found out he had a business trip all the way to Boston for a week! This was his first business trip ever! He was very excited about the adventure.  We debated on me going with him for awhile but it was too hard for me to leave the kids for their whole week off and it was expensive.  We keep wondering why the airfare was so high and then figured out he was traveling right before the Boston Marathon.  The kids and I decided to vacation at Nana and Papa's for a few nights.  We ended up staying there after Easter and Spencer left for the airport.
Monday we went to see Titi's wok and have a picnic.  We saw the cutest baby geese.

While Carter napped that day Aubrey and I had a great boat ride all around the lake.
When Carter woke up he wanted to go to so we went back out.

Tuesday we went and played at the park.

More boating with Papa this time.
Tuesday night we went out to dinner and to see Rio 2 at the movie theaters.  It was a great movie!!
Some book time with Nana and Papa.
Wednesday I drove home early to go to work and Nana and the kids came home later.  We all went to dance class and then Nana left to go home and it was just the kids and I at home.  It's so strange being home with out daddy here.  Thursday was a day of cleaning and getting ready for daddy to come home.  We also got to have Advaitaa, her sister and mom here for a play date.
The kids did this for daddy it was really cute!
We were very excited to see him at 6pm Thursday night.  We even got to have dinner together.  We missed him a lot.  He had a great trip.  He learned a lot and even had time to slip some sight seeing in.
He went on the Paul Revere walking tour.  It was very rainy and he had to do everything by public transportation.  I was very proud of him for getting out and being a tourist.  I was excited for him and jealous.  It was cute because he called me a bunch of times and would text pictures while seeing everything so I kind of felt like I was on the trip.
The Boston Red Sox's were playing the New York Yankees the week he was there so he had to go!!! How exciting!
and he got good seats for getting them the day of.
You would think he could take Friday off after being gone for 4 days straight but he is one busy guy that still had to go into the office.  We are so proud of him and the hard work he does for our family.
The kids and I met up with our good friends at the library for story time.
We got to meet up with daddy for lunch that day.  That night Spencer and I got to go on a date.  Dinner and a movie and it was such a treat to get to spend time just us.
Our last weekend was just relaxing and getting ready to go back to school today.  Having a late spring break was hard to wait for but the thought of summer break in only 5 more weeks is very exciting!

Easter 2014

Saturday night we dyed our Easter eggs in between playing on the play structure.

 Sunday morning.....
Looks like the Easter bunny came! The kids loved finding their baskets in front of their doors.

Then time to hunt for eggs.

and a few toys and their new stuffed animals.

After our breakfast and packing we headed up to Sonora.  We went to Columbia for their annual Easter parade and egg hunt.  Carter refused to take a picture with this Easter bunny.

The Easter bunny even passed out real carrots to the kids.

 Egg hunt time...
There where a bunch of eggs, 2 golden eggs and 2 candle eggs.  Guess who found a candle one?....
Yep that's right Aubrey that meant she got to make a candle at the candle shop for free she was so excited.

We then came home and played.

Papa is building the kids a tree house for them up there.  They have got to be the luckiest kids ever!!! It is really cool and they are thrilled.

Time for a fabulous dinner with our wonderful family!!! It was the best!!

Dessert was amazing too thanks to Baker Titi (aka Laura).  Such a fun memorable day.  We loved being with our family and celebrating Easter! Happy Easter everyone!
