School Thanksgiving Parties

I was one super lucky mommy to not have a time conflict with parties this year!! Thursday November 20th was Aubrey's party and Friday was Carters.  I was thrilled to be the helper Thursday in Aubrey's class room.  I helped the kids get dressed and all ready for their presentation.

It was adorable!! All the 1st grade classes did the presentation.  There are 4 1st grade classes plus on k/1 combo.  They had 2 classes be Indians, 2 be Pilgrims and 1 turkey's.  They sang the cutest songs ever! Turkey left overs was one of my favorite.  The show ended with them all dancing to the chicken dance song and then the parents dancing too.
After the show we got to partake in a healthy fest.  It was a bunch of food from the 5 food groups.
 Very healthy and yummy!

After the fest I stayed and played at recess and in the classroom it was a fun day!  On my volunteer day last week I got to bring Carter to 1st grade with me.  The preschool was closed since the heater broke so I took him and he did great.  All the kids loved him and I was beyond thankful that Ms. Buttrey let him come, how cool is that!

Friday was the preschool Thanksgiving party.  It was a perfect rainy gloomy day!
 Carter loved the turkey bowl.
and of course the coloring table.
They made lots of other cute crafts and played pin the feathers on Mr. Turkey.  We then enjoyed a huge yummy potluck.
Both days were so much fun and have really got my tummy craving more turkey!! Can't wait for our fun week ahead.
Here is a cute picture of Aubrey swinging in the rain....

Oh Fall....

how I love thee! I absolutely love fall! The leaves, the activities, the crafts, bundling up in warm clothes, everything! I feel like fall kind of gets the short end of the stick since it happens so quick.  Don't get me wrong I love Christmas but I do feel like it comes so quick and I just want to treasure the feeling of fall.  I have been loving driving Aubrey to school going down the tree lines street.  This picture doesn't do it justice its just so beautiful!
The kids have had fun doing fall crafts.  We have done a lot but I forget to get pictures all the time but the house is filled with hand print turkeys and coloring pages.  We also have been playing lots of Thanksgiving bingo.
The Friday before Veteran's day (Nov. 7) I took the kids to Lego time at the library.
Then we went and walked around the field of honor.
It was a special experience with the kids.  They liked hearing the stories of different veteran's and seeing the pictures.

That weekend Titi came out and we had so much fun with her.   First stop Saturday was to Lowe's to make our science experiment lab.
Then onto shopping, hair cuts, lunch and yummy froyo
That night we tried lots of different experiments.

Our favorite was the volcano.

Titi and I then made caramel apples with our yummy apples from apple hill.....so good!
Aubrey got 2 days off this year for Veteran's day.  On Monday daddy got the afternoon off so we went to Big Hero 6 as a family.
We had so much fun staying in our P.J's until noon and going on long fall walks (in our P.J's)
We worked on lots of fun Thanksgiving day crafts on our day's off.

I even got to do one :)
On a side note my mom came out (11/6) a couple weeks ago and I got a friend to watch Carter and we just had a mom/daughter day it was great! Lunch and shopping just her and I.  I can't remember the last time we did that maybe when I was pregnant with Aubrey.
Then back to school :( But it wasn't too bad because I got to go on Wednesday and then on Friday Aubrey was awarded another award for her math.  We are very proud of her! Carter and I picked her and Kendall up for lunch that day to celebrate, daddy came too!
Friday afternoon Aubrey went and played at Kendall's so captain America and I played and explored the empty fields behind our house.
That weekend was SMP.  This was my first time being on the primary presidency for an SMP I can't say I helped much.  Lori did a great job.  Saturday was our practice and pizza party and then Sunday was the show.  The kid did great and looked so cute!
Another froyo date with the kiddos!
Time to make some Thanksgiving treats to give out at school and church.

Gotta love pinterst!
Both Thanksgiving parties were great (next post) and now we have a whole week off and the Christmas crafts are already starting.......

My Birthday @ Apple Hill

I'm one spoiled mommy! I love my birthday and I love that family makes it so special for me.  We left Saturday for our weekend away.  This is I think our 5th year of doing this trip the first weekend of November.  We have watched Apple hill get more and more crowded over the years.  The first weekend in November seems like the best weekend Halloween is over so the pumpkin craziness is done and it's not Veteran's day weekend. We stay in Folsom at Larkspur Landing which has a great mini suite for our family and dogs are allowed.  Another big perk is walking distance to the outlets and only 15 minutes to Apple Hill.

Our first farm was an apple picking farm pine-o-mine.  Aubrey and Carter were very excited about picking apples.  It was the end of the picking season so we were thrilled to get a very big bag full of freshly picked yummy granny smith apples.

This farm is adorable and so low key! The kids had fun on the swings and then Aubrey picked out the cutest Origami Owl locket just for her (She loves mine).  Also the people are so nice and gave us a complementary corn dog, very cool!
Then it was off to one of the bigger farms #1 High Hill Ranch.  We enjoyed the best apple fritter and hot apple cider there and looking at all the vendors.

We also went to fudge farm in the back where the kids played and got balloon animals.  Then we drove up the hill to another great farm that had lots of animals.  Deuce liked the chickens a lot until they pecked at his nose.
We enjoyed some more treats and lunch there and then off to another one of our favorite farms with a train and really pretty fall trees.  We tried to take some family pictures to maybe use on our Christmas card but not sure yet if we will use them.

We hit up a few more farms and then  we went and had dinner at one of my favorite places, The Old Spaghetti Factory.
Monday November 3rd was my real day.  Spencer and Aubrey took the day off so we could have a long weekend away.  The kids woke me up to sweet cards that they made me.  Spencer and I were in the other room I just came into the kids area for my gifts and breakfast in bed.

Before we left on our trip one of my gifts was gel nails I'm now a big fan! They have lasted almost 2 weeks and still look great.  I also got this beautiful scarf.
Then I was surprised with gold earrings!
Such a sweet birthday hug! Carter's face is a little funny LOL.
Then off to some shopping and then my other favorite restaurant for lunch, The Cheese Cake Factory.

After shopping and tons of eating we made it back home to get to enjoy another yummy treat!

I'm very blessed and feel very special!!!
Getting older sure is not bad with this awesome family by my side.
