Christmas Break

Christmas break was awesome, fun, great and wonderful but way too short!! Christmas on a Wednesday this year was a bit strange and kind of cut the week in half but we were grateful to have the Friday before Christmas week and the Monday after New Years off too.  Spencer took the week of Christmas off and it was perfect! We love having him home.  We played, played and played.  Carter loves driving his new truck in the empty lots across from us.
Oh no is this a glimpse into the future?!?
I'm happy it's all learning games! They both love playing on their "oPods."

Friday December 27th my family came down to Merced and we all went to the Dinosaur museum in Madera.  It was really cool.  The kids just loved all the hands on activities, especially the dig area.

The whole family got into it and we found all the fossils.
Since Titi's birthday is New Years day we decided to celebrate that day and went to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner.
Here is us enjoying eating out another evening that week.  I think we must have eaten out every day on vacation it was great!  (It made it hard for me to get back into the swing of cooking again!)  Thanks Gaga for the gift card!
Titi came and stayed with us December 30th and 31st.  We had a nice morning at the zoo.  We always love when she visits us!

New Years Eve night we had plans to go to our friends house for dinner and a party but our poor friends daughter got sick so we had to reschedule.  We did a mini party at home and played WiiU, watched movies, had cream puffs and apple cider.
I love ringing in the new year with these cuties!!
New Years day we took down all the Christmas decorations :( and organized we manged to sneak out and play at the park and have a yummy sushi lunch that day too.
January 2nd the kids and I went up to Sonora for a few nights.  We went on a big hike with Papa, played a lot, went shopping, went to music time with Nana and ate lots of good food.  It was tons of fun.  I didn't have the camera with me for everything but I did have it at this cute diner were we had lunch.
Carter's new favorite thing is mustard?!?! Or as he calls it yellow stuff.  Every day for lunch he just wants bread and yellow stuff.  I always sneak a piece of turkey on there too :)

After our mini vacation we were back to playing at home.
Great 2.5 weeks! Now back to reality! We hope you all had a great break.
We are excited about 2014 and the fun things ahead of us!
Happy New Year

Christmas 2013

Christmas day was wonderful!! I love Christmas through the eyes of our children.  They were beyond excited.  Santa had two big gifts all ready out and ready to play with.
 Cute hair Aubrey....

Santa ate all the cookies!! He also left his snowy foot prints by the fireplace and a note.
 Time to open gifts......

So excited!!!! The easy bake oven was top on the list!
We have only seen purple ones at the stores so the fact that Santa made a pink one was a BIG deal!

Mommy taking pictures and daddy video taping.

After we opened all the gifts we played and played! Cooked in the easy bake oven.  We also had a great Christmas breakfast, cinnamon rolls, eggs and sausage, thanks daddy.  After breakfast we got ready and headed up to Sonora for a fun Christmas afternoon and night with our family.  I didn't take a picture but you can kind of tell in the picture below.  Aubrey wanted to dress just like her new doll "Lucy" so we did everything we could to match the two of them.  She looked really cute.
We enjoyed lots of yummy snacks and then jumped right into gift opening.  I had a great time trying to capture every ones face as they opened gifts.  Aubrey was shocked and so excited that Nana and Papa knew that she would get a doll from Santa.

I was very excited that mom and dad got me the necklace I really wanted, an origami owl locket.  I was just thinking that morning that I should have told Spencer or my parents I wanted it but to my surprise my mom already knew that! I was very excited!

This game for the Wii is awesome!!! We have had hours of fun!
Yay Carter has his own Opod (that's what they call it)

It was tons of fun and like always we were spoiled to death, thanks family!!!  Gifts are so much fun but the time spending together is so much better! We had a very yummy dinner prepared by dad/papa and enjoyed the best Christmas cookies and ice cream for dessert by Laura/Titi.
Laura and I even got to make time for playing in the village something we have been doing since we were babies.

Such a wonderful day!!! So much fun celebrating and being with our family.  We are so grateful for all that we have and for the real reason for the season the birth of Jesus Christ.  We hope you all had as much of a magical day/season as us.  Merry Christmas!!!
