Visiting Family

Two weeks ago Aubrey, Carter and I went to the Bay Area to visit family. My grandma just turned 87 and is doing okay but not great. She has Dementia and lives in a retirement home. She has been having some terrible blood clots in her legs which has pretty much made her bed bond for right now so I though it was important to go out and visit her. While out in the bay we got to spend lots of time with my family and do many fun things.

Wednesday we went to Arden Wood with Nana and Titi. It was awesome! You could touch almost all the animals. Aubrey got to pet a cow, horse, pig and some sheep. We saw chickens walk right by us and she feed peacocks while we had lunch. It was so neat seeing her excitement.

My Little Cow Girl!

That night G'pa read Aubrey a good night story.

On Thursday we went to the park, lunch and shopping but I didn't get any pictures :( Then on Friday we went to Habitot Children's Museum in Berkeley. It was Bug day. Aubrey saw lots of bugs and made a cricket house. She also got to play with all the regular exhibits that she loves there.

It was a very nice trip and fun to be with our family.

Pedicures

The last couple of weeks I have been taking Aubrey out for a girls night out. We went to the farmers market a few weeks back where she picked out this very big bright orange/purple flower hair clip that she loves to wear all the time. On Monday the 16th we went to get pedicures. Aubrey LOVES when I paint her nails so I thought she would really like the nail salon and she did. if you ask Aubrey what her favorite color is she would say pink but when ever she has to pick a color and orange is around she goes straight for the orange. Here are some pics of Aubrey getting her pedicure with yes orange polish.

It is a hard life of being a little a brother.
Poor Carter!

Aubrey did this before church on Sunday.

Aubrey's Big Girl Bed

Well we finally did it. We converted Aubrey's crib into her toddler bed Sunday Aug. 15th. Aubrey has always been an excellent sleeper. She started sleeping through the night at only about 1 month. She took two naps all the way until she was about a year and a half and now (or should I say did) takes a long afternoon nap. We didn't really find the need to change her crib, she liked it and never tried climbing out so we just keep it as a crib. The last few weeks we have had a lot of potty accidents so we thought we should make her bed a big girl bed that way if she had to go potty she would open the door and let us know. Well the potty accidents have stopped but now the hard part is keeping her in her room. She does great at bed time we have only had one night in a week that she was screaming and came out and told us there was a "guy" that means something scary. Naps are a little more difficult. I have a baby gate in the door so she stays in there but she opens and closes the door a lot. I sometimes think that we should just change it back but being that she is 2 1/2 I guess it's time for her to be a big girl.

Titi's Visit

A couple of weeks ago Titi had her summer break from her preschool that she teaches at. She came out and spent a whole week with us, we are so lucky! Titi got to come to our last summer class of Musikgarten and then we went to yogurt after.

Wednesday we went down to Fresno and had a great time at Story Land. We also went to lunch and did some shopping.

On the train at Story Land.
(Carter's first train ride)

Titi baby sat the kids Wednesday night so mommy and daddy could go on a date.
(Thanks Titi)

On Thursday we all meet up with Nana in Modesto. We played at the park and had an awesome lunch and play time at John's Incredible Pizza. At the park they had this huge yellow swing that all the kids loved.

We had a great week! Thanks Titi can't wait for your next break!

Teddy Bear Health Clinic

Our local library put on a very cute event for toddlers. It was a health clinic for teddy bears. Aubrey brought her stuffed lamb, Lilly. It was tons of fun. Lilly had her temperature and blood pressure taken, a breathing treatment, and a bandage for her boo boo. Aubrey also did a fun craft and had a nice snack. It was a great way to get kids not scared to go to the doctors.

Carter is 3 months

Can you believe our little man is 3 months? The time is just flying bye. Carter is doing great. He smiles so much which just warms our hearts. He is starting to make little cooing sounds and some almost laughs. He loves his bouncy seat, he likes to look at the owls that are hanging and almost laugh at them. He can hold his head up really well and he likes to stand on our legs when we are holding him. He weighs 14.3lbs and 23 inches long. Last week we took him for his 3 month photo shot, he did great. We wanted to get some of Aubrey too since she just turned 2 1/2 but she was a crazy 2 1/2 year old so we only got one, maybe next time.

We love you so much Aubrey and Carter!

A day at the office

The Coast Guard came into work with a C130 a couple of weeks ago and Aubrey got to take a little tour and play in the cockpit.

Aubrey calls air planes "P" right now. She has said air plane before but I guess she just rather shorten it.
This was a "big P" and she is still talking about it.

Carter's Blessing

We had Carter's Blessing on Aug. 1st at our old ward in Hayward. It was a beautiful blessing, Spencer did great. It was so nice to have lots of family there and to see some old friends. After church we had all the family over to mom & dad sup's house for a party.

Three Generations

We love you Carter. Happy Blessing Day!
