Carter has been talking about having a Nerf party for like 6 months! Pretty much since Christmas when he played with his first Nerf gun at our families Christmas Eve party. Like I have said before I'm not a big gun fan but I do anything for these kidos so a Nerf party it is! After I got over that he wasn't going to do super hero's (which I wanted!) I actually had a lot of fun letting his and my creativity go wild with the party theme. There is NO Nerf party supplies which was actually really fun because we made everything on our own.
Don't mess with this 7 year old!
Since Carter loved the rice krispie cake Titi made at Easter so much that is what he requested this year for his party cake.
Titi also made cupcakes. She is amazing!
I made the kids cute aprons to hold their ammo in and got them the cutest safety goggles.
This was the party favor for all the kids.
Spencer made the coolest invention for the pineta. The boys had to shoot right into the middle of the target for the candy to fall. More pictures of that to follow. Titi came up with Shoot for the loot and Auntie painted it. It was a group effort and came out so cool.
Our little family all ready for the festivities
The first to arrive was Nana and Papa. They surprised Carter with his birthday gift.
It's a net to practice his pitching. He loves it and will get good use out of it! Can you believe Carter can actually pitch to his dad?? Yes he can he is a natural baseball player and probably will be a pitcher some day.
Nana and Papa brought Aubrey a sweet little gift too!
Then all the guest arrived!
Xavian, Cord, Ian, Carter, Wesley, Joseph and Ander.
(Maddox came late so I didn't get him in the group picture)
It's sure hard to get seven 7 year old boys to all look at the camera at the same time!
Once the guest arrived we went right into our art project.
We painted targets.
After painting we had lunch.
As for food Carter really wanted hot dogs (Mega Nerf bullets), Cheeto puffs (Nerf Darts), fruit salad (fruit bombs) and I wanted my moms potato salad (potato explosion).
The kids loved the hydration station.
After lunch it was game time. First up pin the dart on the target. I had got some suction darts that stickied to the window.
Then we had a fun ping pong shooting game.
We then played another target practice game and then came in for musical targets.
After all the structured games the kids really just wanted to battle so they went out and played. Spencer had put up cardboard hide outs around the backyard. It ended up turning into everyone against daddy.
Daddy was having a blast!
After all that playing it was time to come in and open some gifts. Carter was so sweet and grateful for all the special gifts he got from his friends.
Then we sang to my sweet boy.
We then enjoyed dessert and finished our last few games.
Our new favorite the mitten unwrapping game.
and then shoot for the loot.
We all thought this was going to be a hard game and that all the kids would get a chance but sure enough the 3rd person did it! I was kind of disappointed. Oh well
They all had a blast!
Once the crew all left we were able to have some family time and then switched gears to Mother's day!
Another fun party in the memory books.
