Sunday October 29th was our first official day in the parks! We had a 6 day pass and an extra day in Magic Kingdom for Halloween so a total of 7 days. We debated on what we wanted to do our first day and all decided on Animal Kingdom for the first day. We had a blast!!!
The wet air in Florida makes for some crazy hair so I was glad we carried on my family tradition of picking out a Disney hat on our Disney vacation. The first pic of the post was actually taken at the end of the day but I wanted it as our first picture for the post.
And we are off for a fun day....

Then we walked over to the new Pandora-World of Aviator. It was amazing and looked so realistic. Disney World is huge and so much more high tech than Disneyland. I had started booking fast passes 30 days prior to our trip. The two new rides in Pandora were impossible to get fast passes for. By the time we walked to Pandora the flying 3D ride was already a 2 hour wait! The river journey ride was only 10 minutes so we jumped right on that. That was such a fun ride and we were so glad we jumped on when we did because after we got off the wait was already an hour long! We ended up not doing the flying ride. Spencer gets super sick with 3D rides and I didn't think it was worth our time to wait for something that we all couldn't do.
After Pandora we headed over to Africa and jumped on the Safari ride. This is the one ride that Spencer and I remember from Animal Kingdom. I had read that it's best to do it early in the morning and oh were they right! We saw so many animals. Even the guide said that it was the best safari she had ever done!
We even saw a male and female lion playing on the rocks. It felt like we were seeing a real life Lion King!
Zebra's just crossed the road in front of us! The lady behind us kept saying how she doesn't have to go to Africa now! It was really cool!!
After the ride we met Pocahontas. This was really neat since she is not at Disneyland to meet.
Then we did it's tough to be a bug and then grabbed a snack. Mickey pretzels soon became our favorite morning snack! (and churro's!)
We were excited to meet Russel from the movie Up. That use to be Aubrey's favorite movie! She even had an Up birthday party when she was 2!
We then we made our way into Dinosaur land and rode a few fun rides. One like Dumbo, another spinney roller coaster and another one that was just like Indiana John's at Disneyland but a dinosaur version here.
After that we had a really yummy pizza lunch and then went to the lion king show which was amazing!
Then we went to China and went on the most fun roller coaster ever Mt. Everest!! After that fun ride we went to a very funny bird show and Aubrey got picked from the audience to be part of the show!
She was so cute on stage! She was doing math with a bird. It was perfect for her. I love the video I got.
After the show it was time for some ice cream.
and then back to the Dinosaur area for some more rides and time to play in the climb area.
We then went to the Finding Nemo show which also was amazing! I have know idea how they find so many talented people to perform all these live shows all day long!
After Nemo it was time for some shopping. This is when we picked out our cute new hats.
It was an outstanding day!!
We got back to the hotel and enjoyed a yummy dinner at our restaurant in the resort and then did some hot tub time!
It was a little chilly this day and the next day but by Tuesday it was warming up.
