St Patrick's Day Parade

The weekend after St. Patrick's day was the parade up in Murphy's and our annual trip to Sonora.  It was much different this year because poor Nana/mom got very sick on the 17th.  Her temperature was 103 and she was very sick.  My dad and sister took her to the emergency room and she was admitted to the hospital in the ICU with a horrible infection due to her hip surgery she had in February.  It was very scary!!!! She had to go back into surgery right away.  They cleaned out most of the infection and inserted  a port that can deliver antibiotics straight to her heart.  Mom was actually still in the hospital when we arrived up there on Friday and we went to visit her there.  She did get to be released on Saturday and we were there for that to welcome her home.  My mom is amazing when it comes to all the health battles that she has had to fight.  I'm sick one day and I feel like my world is coming to end.  Mom has been so strong and brave when it comes to all these surgeries.  She truly is in inspiration!  We all felt so bad for her because right before she got sick she was finally recovering from her hip surgery and getting around pretty good and then this happens and it's a huge set back.  She is staying positive and is now recovering and getting through it.  She actually made her first big outing to our house on Easter as you will see in the next few posts so we are happy she is on the up swing.

Friday night we all had pizza and then visited Nana in the hospital then we went and stayed at Titi's house because our cousin and her husband were staying at Nana and papas.  Saturday we woke up to a yummy breakfast made by Titi and got ready for the parade.

The parade was so fun and festive!

It was lots of fun but not the same with out Nana!

After the parade we went and got a bunch of yummy picnic foods and had a picnic at home with Nana and then did a birthday celebration for Spencer.  Nana was in bed that is why we are in their room for the party.
It was a fun weekend and we were happy we were there to see mom.
