Mexican Riviera Cruise Day 1

When we noticed that this year the kids got president's week off again we thought why not plan a vacation!! We had did the trail run on a short cruise last year to make sure the kids could handle the boat and they did so great we decided to plan a 7 night cruise to the Mexican Riviera.  We were so excited to escape the rainy winter time for some nice sunshine.  It felt very weird packing shorts and swim suits while we were having inch after inch of rain storms at home.
Our vacation technically started on Friday 2/15.  I was so busy packing and getting the dogs off with my parents that day.  Then as soon as Spencer got off work we all jumped in the car and started driving so we could make sure we were over the grapevine before another big snow storm was coming in.  We made it to our hotel around 11pm that night.
Saturday 2/16 we got up, got ready and headed to the port....

We were on the Carnival Splendor ship.  It was amazing!! We have been so use to doing the small cruises on the Imagination and Inspiration so it was a treat to get to explore a new ship.  The arcade was 10 times bigger so we had fun playing in there many of the days.
There were also so many more pools!! They even had a basketball court.  The spa was 2 stories tall! It was just so much bigger and so much fun to check out.

That night we had a yummy dinner and got to do some night swimming...
How fun to watch a movie while you are swimming.  They even had fresh popped pop corn!
and we're off to Mexico....
