Sacramento

The last week in June the kids and I had the opportunity to take the train up to Sacramento for a few nights.  It was a blast and I'm so glad that we did this mini vacation.
Tuesday June 27th daddy dropped us off at the Amtrak station in Merced.
We were so excited for an adventure!

The train was AWESOME! We got a great spot and had the best time laughing, visiting, watching the scenery, lessening to music, eating treats and reading.

The 2 hour train ride went by really fast! Once we got out the kids looked so cute pulling their suitcases.  As we were walking down the ramp we saw Aunt pat and the kids just ran!! We were all so excited!
The train station is right in Old Sacramento so that was our first stop of the day.  The shops are so much fun.  We played and played until we were so hungry we needed a lunch break.

The kids just loved these silly stuffed animals!
First they are sweet then they are mean!

Aunt pat took us to an amazing lunch at Joe's Crab Shack.  We had a beautiful waterside view.
and I had the best crab nachos ever to eat!
After lunch we did some more shopping and then found Dole Whips!!!!

After Old Sacramento we went to Aunt Pat and Shelly's house.  They just got home from Mexico and spoiled us with lots of fun gifts.  Aunt Pat also ordered the kids pillows they really wanted.
Then it was pool time.  They have a beautiful pool so we just played and relaxed pool side the rest of the day.

That night we had a BBQ and pigged out on sundaes and cookies. We watched the Bachlorette and then got a good night sleep for day two.
Wednesday June 28th we went to the Sacramento Zoo.  It was a beautiful day.  The weather was perfect!

We made a picnic lunch to have in the park that day.
Carter found his long lost brother!
We had to hit up the gift shop on our way out! Aubrey got a beautiful necklace and Carter picked out a cool water thing.

Right next to the zoo is Funderland.  It's a little land with rides.  The kids had a blast! Auntie and I just relaxed in the shade watching them.

 Before the spinney ride.....
 after.......lol

After that we drove to downtown Sacramento and had a yummy yogurt.  Then we came home and watched movies and had more pool time.  The plan was to go out to dinner that night but we were all beat so we decided on pizza by the pool.  It was nice.
Thursday June 29th was our last full day in Sacramento so we were sad.  but we still had lots of fun.  Auntie was so sweet to get all the kids favorite foods and treats.  They loved getting coco puffs!!
After we got ready we got to go and do home shopping at Old Navy, yay! Then we went to the movies to see Diary of a Whipy Kid.  They have a great theater that is half price for movies that have been out longer.  It was so funny!!
After the movie we went to Red Robins for lunch/dinner and then back home to pack.  Auntie then took us to the train station.  The station in Sacramento is really cool!

Our train ride home was also a lot of fun.  It is for sure a great way to travel!!
We had fun playing old maid on the way home and telling jokes.

It was a great trip and we can't wait to go back! We also can't wait to go on the train again it was really fun!!!  We were excited to see Daddy and Deuce at the train station when we got off.
