St. Patrick's Day 2016

St. Patrick's Day is always such a fun holiday for us.
The kids made a trap again this year and had it all set up on 3/16 sure enough St. Patrick's day morning we came down and heard some rumbling in the box.
The kids were shocked had we actually caught a leprechaun?
His footsteps were there.....
It kind of scared us so we decided to open the box across the street in the field.  Daddy opeded the box and what ever was in there ran so fast we couldn't see it.  Later that day Aubrey's teacher told the class that if you touch a leprechaun it turns into a rabbit and we have lots of rabbits in the feild so we think that is what happened. It was a pretty cool morning!

Carter gets pretty into holidays lol!
After we dropped off sissy I got to o to Carter's class for the day.  I cut out a bunch of things for the kids to make a leprechaun hat to wear for the day.

They looked so cute and loved wearing them.
We also did some more fun crafts and had lucky charms for snack.
I always make corn beef and cabbage for dinner on St. Patrick's day but this year we had a fundraiser corn beef and cabbage dinner for our friend Mike who is running for mayor.  It was a fun treat to not have to cook and a nice family night out.
Aubrey and I had fun getting ready for our night out.
Friday 3/18 we went up to Sonora for our annual St. Patrick's day weekend getaway.  Mom and dad made the best corn beef and cabbage dinner that night.  The fundraiser was fun but they didn't have enough food so we were so excited to get a true Irish dinner made by mom and dad with lots and lots of food!
Laura made her amazing sodabread too.
 I love our family traditions!
Saturday 3/19 we drove up to Murphy's for the annual parade.  It's always so much fun.  The weather was perfect.  We loved watching the parade, exploring the shops and enjoying treats all up and down Main Street.
Titi took Crater to get his hair dyed green.  He loved it! He got lots of attention the rest of the day.

The kids were on cloud nine to get these fun puppets.
After a few hours at the parade mom and dad took us up to Ironstone  for our picnic lunch.  This place was beautiful! The flowers were amazing and all the grounds were just gorgeous.  We had an excellent afternoon exploring and playing in the huge green fields.

After our wonderful day out we went and picked up Great Grandpa for a pizza birthday party for him and Spencer.

German Chocolate cake Spencer's favorite! Grandpa was turned 89 this year! He is doing great and we love that he ias in Sonora and so much closer to us now!

What a great day, wonderful weekend and a fun holiday!
