What a fun week we had for Spring break. We started our week off in Sonora. After Easter Spencer came home for work and the kids and I stayed at my parents for a couple nights. Monday we went to Titi's work for lunch. In the afternoon we headed up to the casino to go bowling. When we got there it was snowing! The kids were so excited!
The bowling alley up there is amazing! It's so modern and clean we just love it! One of the coolest features is that when you are putting the names in on the computer you can specify if you would like bumpers or not and when it's that persons turn the bumpers come up. The kids had a blast and Carter bet us all! I think he got like 3 strikes. I swear what ever kind of ball he picks up he can master that sport.
While we were bowling daddy texted us with Aubrey's GATE results......
What a smarty pants! She got 97% we are so proud of her! Obviously Aubrey's mom is not GATE when I was filling out her paper work I put her name as Kate that is why it has my name on it, I called and sitched it to Aubrey. It ws funny because after I noticed that she told me that when they called roll at the test they called my name and she raised her hand and said that was her mom, lol. We are still not sure if we will put her in the program since it's at a different school and we have been so pleased with where she is now. It sure makes for yet another hard decision on school stuff for us. But either way we are just so proud of her and how smart she is. She just took her AR test and she is 5th grade reading level it just amazes me! Carter also is reading now which has been so much fun! Okay back to our spring break....
After bowling we had dinner and then played in the arcade.
Tuesday morning Nana drove us back to Merced. I had to work :( but they all got to play and go to Target and McDonald's.
Wednesday I finally had time to go through some of the kids clothes and pass them on to some friends.
Since one big bag was going to our friend Cooper we decided it would be fun to deliver it on our bikes so we rode to the park and had a picnic in the park that is right by Cooper's house. Crazy to be in shorts on Wednesday when were in the snow on Monday.
Haven her Chocolate bunny, yummy!
Wednesday night Spencer's best friend from childhood, Joel came over for dinner and to watch a couple movies. While they watched one boy movie I played with the kids in Aubrey's room. Carter was cracking us up with his choice of pj's that night.
We played this silly pig game like 1000 times. BTW the kids took these pictures.
Tball is in full swing! Daddy took a long lunch on Thursday so we went and practiced at the park.
Thursday afternoon we had dual play dates. Carter had Alex over and Aubrey had her new friend from church Violette over. They are just too cute! Two peas in a pod. Since Alex and Carter are on the same tball team I offered to feed him and take him to practise with us. We also took Violette to practise too that night it was a lot of fun!
Friday daddy took the day off work we were all so excited! We decided to go to the Fresno Zoo. We got an annual pass so we are excited to go back a bunch more this year. The Fresno Zoo is really awesome! I love all the new stuff and we always have so much fun there.
Feeding the sting rays was quit interesting!
The new wildlife park is amazing!
After the zoo we explored Toys R Us and had a very yummy dinner at Mimi's Cafe. I also got to fit in some Old Navy, H&M and Home Goods shopping :) It was a great day!
Saturday was the start of conference weekend. We did our store again this year and the kids had a BLAST with it! They were begging us to watch conference and I really think we all learned a lot.
Saturday we also had Aubrey's friend from school Eli's birthday party. I'm not sure what the theme was I guess a cartoon from Children's Network (I don't let the kids watch that channel). Eli's mom always does such an amazing job with parties and the kids had a blast. They played badminton which yet again Carter picks up the racket and can play like a pro even though it was his frst time. Also when they did the pinata Carter broke the stick lol. He may look skinny but he has some muscles.
Sunday in between sessions we went out to ride our bikes. We decided to just try and take Carter's training wheels off and sure enough in his first try he was riding on his own. His confidence is what I think helps him so much. We were really proud of our little guy. I got lots of great video footage but only one not great still shoot. I need to take some more better ones.
After he went around the block we decided to go on a big family ride and we put the training wheels back on since we were all going to be on bikes and riding for a few miles.
Well there you have it our spring break in a nut shell it was great and now we have vacation fever!! We can't wait for summer break!
