Girls Weekend!

Every year we try to go on a girls only weekend.  This year we decided on January 23-25.  Aubrey and I drove up to Sonora on Friday 1/23.  We made tacos for dinner, baked yummy cookie brownies and played with all nana's scarves.  It was a fun night.

Saturday we woke up early and got ready for our trip to Sacramento.  It was a very long drive! About 5 minutes in Aubrey started complaining about her stomach and 10 minutes in I was catching throw up with Starbucks pastry bags and my hands, sorry TMI.  My poor baby was sosososo.... car sick.  She complains about her stomach on long car rides a lot before but it had never got this bad! There were some major windy roads and we were in Nana's car without a TV so it all was bad for her.  We did a quick stop in Angels camp at Rite Aid to clean up and while there was able to buy everything we needed for a car sick emergency kit and we continued on the road.  Poor Aubrey got sick a couple more times but as soon as we were out of the mountains she was so much better!! We finally made it to the California Pizza Kitchen in Roseville to meet our Aunt Sharon, and cousins Cindy and Jane.  Then it was off to shopping.  As you can she was much better and happy to get some new earrings.
Here's the gang:
Cindy, Aunt Sharon, Jane, Nana, Titi and Aubrey
We walked around and shopped and then I took Aubrey on the train.  You would have never known she was sick all morning.  This was the first time I really felt like my little girl was growing up.  It felt like since we didn't have Carter with us some of the things were to "baby" for her.  She was excited about the train but nervous she was to big.
Then while the others were shopping she wanted to play but felt weired playing on the play stuff.  It was sad seeing her try to find her place and feeling like she was just to big for things.  But then it was exciting to see how grown up she is and how much fun she is to be with.  I love hearing her stories and I have so much fun holding hand looking at all the stores.  She is growing up to be such a lovely little lady.
We then headed over to the Roseville mall and shopped and shopped.  We said good bye to our family and headed over to our hotel in Old Sacramento.  We walked around Old Sac that night and ate at a great restaurant for dinner right on the water.  We fished our night with the candy shop and hanging out in the hotel.
Sunday morning we woke up got ready and headed over to a little breakfast place in Old Sac and walked around some more.

Then we ventured over to Ikea.  I love that place!!! It was fun to walk around and Aubrey even got to play there and they had other 6,7, and 8 year olds to play with so she felt like a kid again, lol. Since the drive over was so horrific we asked Papa if he wouldn't mind driving my car down to Riverbank and then we would only have to do freeway driving home.  He was very happy to do that for us! We got to meet up for dinner at Red Robins with him and Gaga.  It was nice to see them and enjoy dinner.  Aubrey is holding "Banana's" (a trip gift) in the picture.
It was a great weekend and so nice to have some girl bonding time.  I love that we do these kind of trips and have this time together.  We were very excited to get home to our boys.  They were happy to see us.  They had fun going to the gym, going the arcade, video games, movies and eating lots of chicken nuggets.
I got a new duvet cover from Ikea I was excited about:
