Sacramento

For Christmas my parents gave Spencer and I an over night in a beautiful bed and breakfast in Sacramento.  Part of the gift was watching the kids too.  We decided to use our gift in July in honor of our 7 year wedding anniversary.  It has been a wonderful 7 years of marriage!! I can't believe how fast it has gone and how many wonderful memories we have made.  It is wonderful being married to my best friend in the whole wide world.  We went up to Sonora on Friday and played there with the kids and stayed the night to get an early start on our trip Saturday morning.
Camp fire and smores:
We had a nice kid free drive to Sacramento.  It was great not hearing the Strawberry short cake soundtrack or having to hear, "are we there yet?" every 2 minutes.  We have been loving our phones and being able to check out Yelp for fun new restaurants to eat at.  We found a 5 star sandwich place in Elk Grove that was off the beaten path and was delish! We arrived to our beautiful bed breakfast.  This was the first time ever staying at a b&b it was very cool.  We loved how old fashion it was.  When we checked in the inn keeper took down our orders for breakfast and our favorite drinks.  They brought us what ever we liked and we felt very spoiled.
After checking in we headed down to Old Sacramento and walked around.  Such a neat town with lots of fun shops and yummy salt water taffy.  We also did some mall shopping too.
One of the reasons we picked the second weekend of the month was for second Saturday.  They close down part of mid town for an art festival.  We walked from the b&b and enjoyed looking at all the vendors and listening to the live bands.  We then headed to The Melting Pot for dinner.  This was also a first for us and we had a great time.
The food was AWESOME!!

When we got back to our room, home cooked cookies and milk were waiting for us.

The next day we headed back over to Old Sacramento and rented bikes.  We went on a 10 mile bike ride along the Sacramento river.  It was such a beautiful morning and a fun activity.  We are now in the market to buy our own bikes and can't wait to go on a ride again.
It was an amazing trip and just so nice to be the two of us. I love you so much Spencer and I'm so lucky to be your wife!!! I love that we have been able to grow up together and that we get to continue to grow old together.  I can't believe we have been together over 14 years and married 7 years its been a blast and I can't wait for another million more.  Also a big thank you to my parents for making it possible for us to have some time together that was the best gift ever!
