Mazatlan Day 4

Tuesday 2/19 we were in Mazatlan Mexico.
Our excursion for the day was zip lining.  We boarded a bus right off the cruise ship and headed up to the mountains.  It was around a 45 minute bus ride.  Half the time we were in the city which looked more like the Mexico we knew before and less like the beach town of Cabo.  We finally made it to the zip lining location.  It was a really neat place.  The buildings were all very colorful and the flowers were gorgeous.
We waited in line to get all our gear.  Aubrey wasn't that excited for this excursion.  She was pretty nervous.  I started to get a little uneasy also since we were told we needed to break ourselves by holding down on the cable behind us.  Also all worker only spoke Spanish which duh we are in Mexico but for a semi dangerous activity it didn't help my nerves not knowing what they were saying.

Once geared up we boarded another bus and went higher up the mountain....

Then we got in a line and hooked onto the cable.  I was starting to get really nervous because we were not in control and not together either.  Zip lining in Hawaii I didn't have this uneasy feeling because we were without the kids and then in Tahoe it was geared towards kids so this was really scary.  Plus the breaking was up to us! ahhhhhh.......

After the first zip and we were all alive so I was feeling a little better.  But poor Aubrey got a horrible cable burn on her thumb that turned into a huge blister! Spencer had to ask the guide in Spanish for a band aide and they actually needed to some how radio in and get it delivered.  The burn really scared Aubrey and made for kind of a challenging day ahead.  But she did great and still manged to have fun.

at the very end of the course we had to repel down a huge tree which was really scary!
Zip lining was fun but a bit stressful for us all.  We were happy to have done it and then to get a homemade quesadilla, fresh fruit and water after.
Part of the excursion was to go to a tequila farm after and see how it tequila was made long ago.  We had a few other people on the tour with us from Utah so we tried to get out of this part of the tour but they said no.  It was kind of interesting and neat to see the old farm.

Once back to the port we were able to do some fun shopping and try some street tacos which were really good.
We then got back on the ship to relax...

Mazatlan was fun and we are so happy we got to experience it!
Next stop.... Puerto Vallarta!
