Our annual summer tradition is to go up to Sonora for a week in the summer for Camp Phoenix Lake it's always such a fun week. This year we did July 23rd-26th. It was fun this year since we got to bring Millie up for everyone to meet.
We drove up early Monday morning. Aubrey and I got to go with Nana for her fun lunch group to a really cute tea house in Columbia. What a perfect name, Kate's Teahouse!
Lunch was delicious but what stole my heart were these macaroons!.....
Yum! We got to check out a cute little shop by the restaurant.
Then we went home to cool down. Lunch was very yummy but we ate outside and I think it was around 98 degrees that day! After some r&r Carter and I took the paddle boat out in the lake.
Seeing Nana and Papa's house from the lake it's just gorgeous!
There in the process of building a new garage so that was fun to also see that in the distance.
Carter and I enjoyed our time talking and paddling together.
That night Titi came over and we all watched a musical and had Nana's homemade mac&cheese and BBQ ribs for dinner.
Tuesday morning I went downtown to check out a trampoline aerobic class...
Oh my goodness it was one of the most fun classes I have ever taken! I had a blast and it put me in such a fun happy mood. The people at place were so friendly and the work out was amazing!
After my workout I came home and Papa, Carter, Deuce and I went on a kayak adventure to the other side of the lake...
Deuce did really good in the kayak.
Papa and Carter took me to the dam that they have been to before. It was really beautiful.
While we were on our adventure Nana and Aubrey went to the fabric store and made Millie a new bed for Aubrey's room. It came out so cute!
After we came home and we all had lunch. Then Papa, Gaga, Aubrey, Carter, both dogs and I went up the hill to a cooler trail and did a fun nature scavenger hunt that Nana made for them. It was a lot of fun and pretty challenging.
We found some fun chairs that Papa and Carter used to rest on.
The trail was beautiful. There was a very pretty river that ran a long side. On our way back the kids made boats to race back to the start of the trail.
They both won! We were all pretty tired!
Once back at the house Nana had a surprise for the kids for completing the scavenger hunt. It was a neat rock set that they need to dig to find.
That night Nana and Papa made us a very nice BBQ chicken dinner and then we made our camp shirts. Aubrey had the idea for us to tie dye shirts this year. We decided not to put writing so we could not only wear them at camp we could all wear them in Tahoe in a couple weeks. We all had fun making shirts together...
Millie is sure cute but man did we struggle with potty training that week! I think it was just hard since we were at a new place. She refused to go potty outside!
Wednesday morning I woke up early and went to the gym in town and to check out the body pump class up there. It was really good! I was shocked at how muscular the teacher was! If she was down in Merced I might be more motivated to lift heavier!
Once I got home we worked on our tie dye shirts. There sure are a lot of steps and the kids helped with each of them!
Like rinsing them out...
and then washing them...
and then we hung them to dry. They came out so cute and we can't wait to wear them!
Wednesday afternoon Papa, Gaga, Aubrey, Carter and I went out to lunch at McDonald's and then I took the kids to the community pool for some swim time.
We had a lot of fun. The diving board was a hit!
After swimming we all got ready and headed up to the casino to meet Titi and go bowling as a family!
We all had so much fun. Aubrey won, Carter got second and Papa and I tied for last.
always a blast!!!!
We all had dinner at the sports grill which was yummy. Then Papa took the kids to the arcade and all of us adults went and played on the penny slots.
Thursday morning I was excited to go back to my trampoline class before the kids woke up. Then when I got home the kids worked on finding their rocks in the cool set they got for doing the scavenger hunt.
They had a lot of fun and they found some really cool beautiful rocks. After that we all packed up the car and had to say good bye. It was such a fun week! I love that my dad gets us out in nature exploring. I love that my mom is so crafty and finds fun things for the kids to do. We are truly blessed to only live an hour way and get to do these fun week long gateways. We can't wait for the next one!
