Christmas 2017

Christmas morning started at 5:30am here!! If Aubrey had her way it would have started at 1am! She woke up and came in our room begging to go down stairs and we said no way!!  Our goal was to sleep until 6am and probably Carter and I could have done that but Daddy and Aubrey were so excited they woke us up.  We could not believe all the gifts we saw downstairs!
The kids ran straight to the tree and to check out Santa's foot prints (that was always one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning).  Then it was off to the table to read the note from Santa and he sure helped himself to those homemade cookies...

Our elf stayed one extra day this year and also had a note that said we could hold and hug him all day!

After all the notes and hugs we were ready for our stockings and gifts!

Deuce always loves Christmas too! Santa spoils him with toys and treats too!

and so the gifts begin.... Pictures sometimes speak loader than words so here we go lots and lots of picture!

Carter wanted the super hero Flash for so long!!

A whole gallon of glue! Aubrey was ecstatic! Do you know how much slime you can make with a gallon of glue?? A lot!

On the top of Aubrey's list this year to Santa was another American Girl Doll! She really really really wanted Maryellen!  I had told her all season that I wasn't sure she would get her since she already had a American Girl doll. Look at that surprised face...

The kids did some great shopping!

and the homemade gifts just melt my heart!
Aubrey made us a frame..
Carter made a cute wreath ornament with his picture in it.

Aubrey wrapped up some cute homemade stuff for Carter.  I can't remember everything in the package but I do remember a badge and a dollar bill.

and I made daddy his family calendar..
we also got him a funny desk calendar too.
Gotta love the hugs!

I got an IOU for an Alexia which came the next day...and I love it!

After all the gifts were done we tried to surprise the kids with their big gift from us.  We hid them in their rooms while they were reading the notes first thing in the morning.  After opening all the gifts they kind of knew we had something up our sleeves but it still was a fun surprise.

Wow what a morning!!!

After all the opening we straight to play mode! We had so much fun playing with all our new toys! We played Lazar tag, we made smooches, we played American girl doll, we built Legos and we even had time to play a little bite of the mouth game.
The kids had pop tarts while we were opening gifts (so healthy!) So after all the opening and playing they were not that hungry and only wanted popsicles.
We went outside and tried out their new pogo sticks. and I even got a little run in!

While the kids continued to play Daddy and I started getting ready for our family to come over.  We had a big group coming this year Nana, Papa, Titi, Gaga, Aunt Pat, Aunt Shelly, Uncle Steve and Diana.  We felt so blessed that everyone was willing to travel to us.  It's so nice to stay home and not have to pack the kids all up.  Spencer loves planning the meal and I love decorating so we are a great host team!

 Our appetizer spread was amazing!
but the company was even better! We just love our family so much!!

After some eating and visiting it was time for round 2 of gift opening.  This year we did things a little different.  We pulled names and had a $75 limit.  Spencer drew Aunt Pat and I drew Nana.  It was really fun just concentrating on that particular person.  We also all made Amazon lists so that also made shopping really easy! The kids were not part of the pulling games so they were spoiled beyond belief!

I love the excited face!!

Nana got Spencer and he got the racket he really wanted for Racket ball!

Aunt pat got me and pretty much got me everything on my list! New work out shirts, black converse, a mom shirt and a gift card.

as I said before we were so spoiled! The kids were very grateful and would give hugs after they opened all their gifts it was really sweet!
We also decided to do a white elephant this year which was a lot of fun too!

Nana got our Star Wars picture!

After all that opening we were ready for some dinner which was seriously fabulous!

After dinner we did our mitten gift game which was hilarious!

 Aunt Pat won!
Then we played jackbox and relaxed!
Then it was time for Titi's pie which is to die for! and other yummy treats!
It was an amazing Christmas!!!!

So blessed to have all these wonderful people in our family and to live close enough to all be together!! We truly are so lucky!

Are day ended relaxing, building Lego's watch a Hallmark Christmas movie.
