Camp Phoenix Lake

Our summer tradition has been to go up to Nana and papa's for a week in the summer and we call it Camp Phoenix lake since they live on Phoenix Lake.  We always have so much fun and enjoy our family time.  I love making shirts and having them to wear after and remember all the fun we had.  Nana and Gaga are not big on matching shirts but Papa absolutely loves it and wears his shirt all the time!  Camp was July 25-July 28 for me but the kids stayed until July 31st so that Spencer and I could have a fun anniversary trip (next post).
Our first day Tuesday July 25th Papa took us four wheeling on back roads up to this really cool fire tower.
There were almost 100 steps to get to the top.
Once at the top we met a really cool retired fireman that showed us how to work his equipment.  His job is to look all around for fires and to call them in ASAP. It was really cool being so high and able to see so much!

That night we went to my favorite restaurant for dinner and watched Descendants 2 again.  After the movie we went over to stay at Titi's house.  They love her fun glasses.

Wednesday July 26th we went horse back ridding.  It was so much fun and so beautiful.  It had been over 15 years since I went horse back riding and about 2 since the kids went when they went with papa while we were in Hawaii.

Carter and Hank
 Aubrey and Blair
(I wish I could have got more pictures but the guides were all waiting on me)
 Titi and Dolly
 Papa and we cant remeber:(
 and I was on buddy.

Our tour was a little over an hour.  The weather was perfect! They took us on a beautiful trail.  I was so surprised that we were basically on our own riding these huge animals in the wilderness.
At one point we came to a cliff and I was really nervous but we all did great and made it through.
 Our guide was great.
We all had a really good time.

That afternoon we made sandwiches and then Nana taught the kids how to sew on a sewing machine.  Nana and Papa were so cute to get all the supplies to make a campsite for their American girl/boy dolls.  They first made sleeping bags.

Papa helped with the tents and chairs.

They had a great time and have loved sewing ever since.
This camp site is the cutest thing ever.

After sewing Titi and Aubrey baked cupcakes

and Carter and Gaga played video games.

That night we had a BBQ and the best dessert ever...
Thursday July 27th Nana and Papa took us all to a really fun creek to ride intertubes.  It was such a nice relaxing day.  We took Deuce too and I was surprised he got in the water.
The kids also did some gold panning

After our fun day we went home and washed up for a fun night in Columbia.  We ate at a fun pizza restaurant for dinner
and then walked around the fun old fashion town.

We got ice cream at our favorite ice cream parlor for dessert.

That night we came home and watched shows and then I packed up since I was going home the next day but the kids stayed for more camp...
Friday July 28 papa and Carter went on a hike/boat ride on the lake while Aubrey and Nana went shopping.

Saturday July 29th they went bowling and to the casino to play in arcade.

Sunday July 30th Titi took the kids out to lunch to McDonald's
Then they meet up with Nana and Papa to go mini golfing.

There is never a dull moment at camp phoenix lake.  They keep the kids and me very busy with fun stuff! It was a great week and I was so happy to get to see my kiddos home on Monday July 31st!
