Aubrey's Paris Party

Aubrey's Paris party was a blast!! It was such a fun party to plan.  I loved everything about it! In December when we started talking about what kind of party she wanted we had just watched the American Girl movie about Grace going to Paris to work in her uncles Patisserie.  Aubrey adored that movie.  It got us excited to attempt baking french macaroons and it also started her love for the Eiffel Tower.  When it came to planning a theme for her party I brought up Paris and she was thrilled! (I was too since I just love the French culture) It was so much fun looking up French ideas and remembering all the French exchange students we had growing up and my couple trips to France.  Both Aubrey and I feel in love with the black and white stripe/flower combination and so that is what I based most of the decorations and invitation off of.  So without further adieu, I present Aubrey's Paris Party:
We did most of the set up on Friday so Saturday after the games it was a rush to get her all ready.  She looked so darn cute!!! Her beret she was wearing was from France it was a souvenir that I brought back for Laura.

"Mom my friends are here I got to run."
Om my gush I was so happy with how the cake turned out! It was a dream come true!! I looked for hours on pinterest for a cake that Laura could duplicate but nothing looked just right.  So I told her what I was thinking and sure enough we made our very own creation.  I was so proud of Laura!
My French Macaroons were not the best.  I wasn't that happy with the color either this time around but oh well they looked cute and people ate them so maybe they were not that bad.
I loved how much the guest really embraced the theme.  Kendall looked so cute! What a great best friend.  She actually gave Aubrey a beautiful Eiffel Tower necklace on her real day and Aubrey just treasures it.
After the guest all arrived we went straight to work on the first craft.  Both Aubrey and I were on super French watch at all the stores.  Aubrey found the cutest French Valentine cat sticker craft at Hobby Lobby it was just perfect! The girls loved making there French kitty cats.

The weather was PERFECT.  It was great watching them all play on the outside swing set and jumping on the trampoline.  I love our yard it works great for parties.
Here is a list of the guest:
Kendall (school)
Mia (school)
Ellie & Siri  (school) there mom stayed

Carrie (family friends) the whole family stayed
Eve (church)

The food was delicious.  I loved that my cart looked so French at Costco when we went shopping with all the breads, cheese and tulips.  We had croissant or baguette sandwiches, veggies, fruit salad, potato salad and chips for lunch.

I could not get enough of this cake!
After lunch we started our big project.  One of my favorite memories of France is walking by the Seine River in Paris watching the artist paint.  I bought canvas for all the girls and we had some diagrams on how to paint an Eiffel Tower and or a poodle.  This was an awesome activity.  The girls LOVED it! I think it was the most quiet party activity ever.  The French music was playing and the girls just concentrated on their paintings.

 Carter loved it too!

Their final products were all amazing and hope they all enjoy them hanging in their rooms.
As the girls finished they would come inside for some fun photo booth pictures.
I was laughing so hard at this one:
Eve is Aubrey's new friend at church.  They are super cute together! Eve is a 100% gluten free well most days I guess they give her a free pass to eat gluten at birthday parties. The first thing she said when she came in is, "I can eat gluten today!!" I noticed her eating so many croissants lol! Then when it was picture time she picked the pretend baguette to pose with lol!!

 It was silly and fun!
After that we went right into the games.  First up pin the tail on Fifi the French poodle.

Then we did musical Eiffel towers.  I struggle with games because they are fun but I always feel bad that not everyone wins.  Aubrey actually had her first party melt down after this game when she didn't win.  I think we need to talk about party edict before the next party.

Then it was gift time.  Aubrey was so excited and very thankful for all her wonderful gifts.  I loved how yet again her friends included the French theme in some of her gifts it was very thoughtful.

One of her favorite gifts was a homemade large replica of her favorite shopkin, Little Sipper.
My friend Tiffany is amazing when it comes to making these!!

 Cake time!

The cake tasted just as good as it looked, amazing!
I made these chocolate Eiffel towers that came out really cute and yummy.
After cake they bounced and played until it was pinata time.
Boo on Target the pinata was not very strong I think it only lasted like 4 wackes!
But it was still fun getting all the candy.  This was Aubrey's melt down number 2 of the day.  Not sure why they feel like they need to have the most candy but my kids go crazy! I asked her to share and it turned into lots of drama.  It was the end of a very crazy, special, fun day and I think both Aubrey and I were tired.  We worked it out and all was well.
It was a perfect party! We all had a blast and all the guest left smiling and happy.  After our last guest left we took our annual family pictures.

Then we had some photo booth fun!

Then we cleaned up and played basketball.  Titi stayed over that night so we went out and grabbed some dinner and then relaxed until our next big project the next day!
Here was our front door for the party:
For the party favor we gave out Paris charm bracelets.
 and the chocolate Eiffel Towers.
Such a fun party! Hard to believe it's over now but the memories will last a lifetime!
