Fun Random Stuff

Monday May 8th a 757 came into work filled with police officers to take down a huge gang in the Atwater area.

 Getting ready for Carter party.
Wednesday May 10th I had a wonderful date lunch with my dad that I sadly didn't get any pictures of! Also on that day Aubrey had a play date with Mia and Auntie came into town for a few nights.
I actually was in charge of the schools fundraiser this year! yahhhhh! What happened was our usual pancake breakfast that we do every year was cancelled due to lack of support so we had to brainstorm some other ideas.  I was talking to Carter's teacher and she told me about this idea to do a drive thru dinner.  She gave me a number to a local guy who does BBQ and before I knew it I was in charge of planning and facilitating the whole event! First I made flyers and handouts.  I made them in color but I'm to lazy to go find the original pdf so here is my flyer:
I got teams together to count money, distribute tickets and then work the night of the event! It was a huge success and we sold 967 tickets!! Our profit for the school was almost $5000!! I was pretty proud.  The night of the drive thru I stood putting BBQ sauce on the meat for 3 hours! Surprisingly I wasn't that tired!
The kids did great running the meals to the cars!

I was happy when it was over! I could really concentrate on Carter's party now!! Auntie was a big help at the BBQ and getting ready for the party.
Friday May 12th Carter had a friends party.  My sister came into town and we all went to dinner and then full party preparations! The Nerf party up next!

Mom Supinger's 80th Birthday

It's hard to believe that both Spencer's parent's are in their 80's.  It's been different having my in-laws the same age as my grandparents.  Actually Spencer's parents were married the year my parents were born so it's a whole different experience.  Another really fun fact about Spencer's mom is on her 20th birthday May 7th she had her first child/daughter, Terry (Spencer's sister) so Terry was turning 60.  But whats even crazier is that Terry had her first child/daughter Danielle on her 20th birthday also May 7th! All of these births were natural and non induced so it's 3 generations all born on the same day! mom, sister, niece all 20 years apart exactly!
This was a picture taken for the news paper.
Saturday May 6th we celebrated mom with a huge party at a chapel in Hayward.

Her most favorite food is taco and key lime pie.  So we had a taco bar and lots of pie for dessert.  We also had cake.

One famous funny family story is Shelly Rudy.  At Spencer's grandmas funeral Spencer who was only 8 wrote in the guest book "Cool Dude"  so mom sup tried to change that to say a name instead so she came up with Shelly Rudy now we joke about Shelly Rudy coming to all our events so she made it to the party in the form of a pineta.

 Our newest great niece Kaylee

 The group!
after the party some of us headed over to mom and dads to open gifts
and play games.  Carter is attached to cousin Davey.  And Davey is so good with him.  When ever we couldn't find Carter he was always with Davey.
That night we went and stayed at Adam and Susan's house because we had Kaylee's baby blessing really early the next day in Manteca.
After church we had another big family get together.
The next day look what Davey sent Carter for his birthday now Carter loves him even more!

Cinco de Mayo

Teacher Appreciation lunch landed on Friday May 5th this year so my idea for a Cinco de Mayo theme was perfect!  This has been my event to host for 3 years now.  I tried really hard to delegate this year and not be so involved since I have decided May seems to be a more busy month then December now with school aged kids.  I did still do the flowers for the event but thank goodness another lady was willing to do the food, another do paper products and another do gifts.  So my stress level for the event was a lot less this year.
I found the idea to put the flowers in Mexican cans on Pinterst and I thought they came out so cute!
All ready for the event! I love my shirt from our Mexican cruise!
The decorations came out cute. I probably would have done more but I'm glad I didn't because I saved money not doing it and it was just enough for the event.
We had the food catered this year from a Mexican restaurant downtown.  It was really good and the teachers loved it.

We set up a fun photo booth for the teachers and all of us moms had fun too.
The Supinger family from out of town were starting to come in on Friday for Spencer's mom's 80th birthday party on Saturday. A guy fishing trip was planned this Friday up at Discovery Bay.  I told Spencer he should leave work and pick Carter up and go! When do get the opportunity to go fishing with a bunch of brothers and your 85 year old dad? So he came to the school and saw the decorations and then got Carter.  We fit a cute picture in too!
They made it up to Discovery Bay and had a blast fishing! They actually caught a lot and had a great time bonding with family.

Once the lunch was done and cleaned up I got my girl and we went to frozen yogurt.
We then went home rested and then out to Target and to the movies to see Gifted.  It was a sweet movie about a young girl that was a mathematician.  We had a great mother/daughter date and when we got home the boys were home too.
Here are the cute small gifts I made for the teachers this year.
 What a fun Friday!
