Sandbox

On Saturday Spencer built Aubrey a really nice sandbox. Aubrey got to go with Daddy to Lowe's and buy all the supplies early Saturday morning. Then the two of them worked together and made a perfect sandbox!

We have been getting lots of good use out of it all week!

Spencer also worked on making our garden bigger this year. Now we can plant lots more yummy vegetables.

After all the home improvement projects we headed over to the big bike races here in town to check it out.

We also got to go to Sonora. My parents watched the kids so we could go out on a date. We also got to enjoy some family time and celebrate Spencer's Birthday.

Pinewood Derby

Our Ward had an Elders Quorum Pinewood Derby activity last Friday. There really were no rules other then it had to fit on the track. My amazing civil engineer husband came up with a great idea and ended up winning the whole thing! It was a fun family night being with all our friends.

Spencer's smile after his car won the first race was priceless.

Everyone did great. There were so many great cars and ideas.

The kids were proud of their Daddy!

Mr. Carter

Is now 10 months!!!!! Wow time flies when you are having fun! He is just a little or should I say big bundle of joy. He is standing up getting ready to walk! Can you believe it? I sure can't. It feels like he just started crawling and now he is standing up on everything and just tonight he stood up in the bath without holding onto anything. I have a feeling I'm going to have a first steps post very soon.

He is a happy little guys most of the time. His teething has been really hard. I don't remember Aubrey having so much pain. This little guy drools like you wouldn't believe (we go through 3 shirts a day and that's with a bib). He also gets a really runny nose I think from the teething so it makes it hard for him to stay comfortable but he does the best that he can. He has his two bottom teeth that are the cutest thing when he smiles. He too loves the swings at the park.
He loves to be out and about doing things. He is a little flirt. The other day at the grocery store one of the clerks (a man) started to talk to me Carter gave him the eye. Even the guy said "wow he doesn't want me to be talking to his mom" then when we were in line there were two teenage girls and Carter was smiling from ear to ear. He was acting very bashful it was so cute.
Carter loves to play. He always seems to fine the littlest toys and wants to play with them. He also discovered the stairs today, thanks to his sister opening the gate. He started to climb them and got to the second stair before I stepped in to get him. Thank goodness he didn't fall. He is eating great. He still likes all the fruits and some vegetables. Not a big fan of green beans any more. He likes to snack on yogurt melts, Mum-Mums, puffs, and teething cookies.

I love having a son. He is just a joy and melts my heart with his smiles. I love how he reaches for me from his crib with a huge grin it makes me so happy. I love getting to cuddle with him right before naps and bed times. I love you so so so much Carter.

Aubrey......

Is the sweetest little girl we know. She is growing up so fast and I want to make sure I treasure every little moment. She is learning so much every day. I wanted this post to be all about Aubrey and what she knows so I'm sorry if it feels like I bragging but I really feel like she is the smartest little girl ever! Aubrey knows her whole alphabet, how to count to 10 and ALL her colors. We went to a kid's science presentation at Michael's craft store and the lady was so impressed that she knew all her colors. She learned how to mix colors there.

Aubrey LOVES movies. Spencer and I had a great idea. We both had movies in the theater that we wanted to take her too. We keep saying "oh it would be so fun but what would we do with Carter?" Well duh! We took turns and gave her two special movie days. Two Saturdays ago I took her to Gnomeo & Juliet and this last Saturday Spencer took her to Ringo. Both were big hits to little Aubrey. She has an AMAZING memory. She will remember parts from movies she even remembers hair styles. Funny story, we gave Carter his first mohawk a while back and when Aubrey saw it she laughed and said "be right back" next thing we know she has gone through our movie library and brought back The Incredibles and said "look baby Carter!" The little baby in that movie has a mohawk. How in world did she remember that? We watched that movie probably a year ago. We have about 20 other stories just like that.

Aubrey loves all crafts and projects which has been seen in past post. She is also really into baking and now helping me cook dinner and set the table. We made some peanut butter blossoms the other day (which were to die for). Aubrey put every Hersey kiss on and did it so perfect.

Aubrey also enjoys reading. She loves to check books out of the library and read them during quite time. I was so happy that I captured this moment on camera.

We love going to the park. Aubrey's favorite is the swings right now. Today she was playing tag with the other kids their and it was too cute hearing her say "You're it!"

We are working on playing nice with her brother and sharing. These are big things around here but it is improving a little bit.
Aubrey if you read this in a bunch of years from now I want you to know that you brighten my days. You are the best little side kick I could have ever asked for. You make me feel like the luckiest mom in the world. I love your hugs and kisses and when you say "I love you." I'm so proud of you and I love you very very much.

Happy Birthday Spencer!

Thursday was Spencer's 31st Birthday.
It was such a fun day to celebrate with him. Aubrey and I had a great time making his cake, decorating the house and actually surprising him with his gifts (he usually guesses them all but not this time!)

When I was growing up we always had "table prises." It was a small gift that we would get when it was another siblings birthday. I loved it and always would look forward to it so I want to carry on the tradition with our family.

We went to Big Bubba's for a yummy dinner.

and came home for cake.

I made Spencer his very favorite cake that I make, carrot cake.

It was an awesome day. We love you very much Daddy/Dada/Hubby! Happy Birthday!

President's Weekend

I love President's weekend. It is SO nice having Spencer home for three whole days. We had a very nice weekend relaxing, playing, seeing family and even a day trip.

Check out Carter's new hairdo:
(He actually has enough to do a Mohawk)

Spencer took these cute pictures Sunday morning right after they woke up. Aubrey loves getting Carter in the morning and asking him, "good dreams baby Carter?"

I tried to get a cute pic before church and this is the best I got.

We even got to see Nana & Papa Sunday night. They moved into their Sonora home last weekend which was very exciting but because of the bad snow in the mountains they lost all power for 5 days. It was very bad for them but we were excited to see them and spend time with them.

Monday we went to Rotary Playland for the day. It was a perfect day. The kids had a blast on all the rides and seeing all the ducks.

Carter was so proud of himself for standing up.

Aubrey has been getting lots of practice on her trampoline at home so she knew right what to do on this big one.

Aubrey's 1st roller coaster. She wasn't too sure about it, she held on very tight.

She was sure happy to get off. I love this action shot Spencer took.

Carter had his 1st spaghetti dinner, which he loved!

and then a much needed bath.

It was a wonderful weekend. I wish every weekend was three days.
