Trunk Or Treat

Trunk or Treat was on the Saturday October 29th.  I always wish and hope it will be on the Saturday before Halloween but of course the one year we had plans on that Saturday before they decided to have it that day go figure.  Anyways we were able to change our plans and make it possible to be at Trunk or Treat.  It was exciting this year because we decorated our car and passed out candy.
I told the kids what I was thinking and I got them started on the mural and they just went with it and did an amazing job.  If you look close you can see that all the super holders on the buildings.   I loved them all but I would have to say Hulk was my favorite.

The kids had a blast running around collecting candy.  I had fun passing out candy and checking out every ones fun creative costumes.

We had a blast and worked up quite an appetite so we headed over to Pizza Factory after.  Everyone loved our costumes there!
 Then we played games.
 Miss grabber game champion!

Deuce was dressed up too  Its' hard to see him in the family picture but he was there as bat dog.  He probably got the most attention.

Carter's Monster Party

I was at Hobby Lobby and I found a cute little monster sticker activity and bought enough for 26 kids.  I texted Mrs. Buttrey and asked her what she thought of a Monster party and she loved the idea.  That's why I love Ms. Buttrey so much I have an idea and she lets me run with it.  We did the party on Friday 10/ 28.  I put together 4 stations.  We had the monster sicker craft, donut monsters, pin the eye on the monster and beg decorating for their treats from school.  It came out super cute and the kids had a blast.

That night we got all dressed up for the merced zoo boo and out to dinner to Sizzler.

Last week in October

The last week in October was lots of fun.  It was drug free spirit week and also early release for teacher conferences.
Monday 10/24 red day
We made spider webs that day

Tuesday 10/25 was tie dye day
Wednesday 10/26 crazy sock day.
we had our fun pottery day that day.
We checked out the day of the dead exhibit that day.
Thursday 10/27 was twin day.  Aubrey was so mad she didn't have a twin this year.  She has lots of great friends but I don't have their mom's numbers to coordinate.  Crater dressed u with Cord in their Peterson shirts so Aubrey did that too and then I wore mine that day to volunteer in.  So we were all twins.  I didn't get a picture but I did get a picture of Aubrey on our lunch date to Five Guys.
That afternoon we did something new this year, we painted our pumpkins to match our super hero costumes.  It was a really fun craft and I think we will do that again.

That night was our annual Witch's night out.  I love dressing up and going out with good friends.

We look so cool all together.

It was a real fun night.
Friday 10/28 Jersey day
Up next Carter's Halloween party at school.

Apples, Apples and more apples

A lady at church had a sign up going around for the best deal in town 40lbs of apples for $10!! How could we pass that up?? We picked up our 40 lb. of pink lady apples and have been enjoying them for weeks!
Sunday October 23rd we had our friends the Sharps over for a caramel apple party.

They turned out so cute and so yummy!

We made some special ones for teachers and friends.
The following Sunday I made a dutch apple pie which was too die for if I must say myself.

Fresno Zoo Boo

Saturday October 22nd we went down to Fresno for their annual zoo boo.
This was our first time going to the Fresno Zoo Boo.  When Aubrey was asked to write about her favorite Halloween memory she wrote all about the Merced Zoo Boo and after I read her adorable story I thought it was time to take them to a bigger zoo boo this year.  We have annual passes to the zoo but you have to still buy extra tickets for this event.  Our friends the Sparks live in Handford so we decided it would be fun to all meet up together.  It was a great night.  The zoo did a great job with decorations and at every station they had the best candy.  The kids loved running around checking out every activity.  It was also very cool because the event was at 5pm which is the time that most animals start waking up.  We got to see so many animals and even came very close to roaring lion which was by far the best part.  It was fun to get try out our costumes for the first time.  I was excited to have a theme this year.  Aubrey actually decided on the theme.  She found her bat girl outfit and wanted that then Carter decided on Spider man and the dad and I went with the theme and had fun.  My Captain America doesn't have to wear fake muscles he fills out his shirt quite well!

Sometimes I think the kids like the statues more then the animals!
They had a Harry Potter land set up which was super cool! The real owl was amazing.

All the vendors had great table decorations.

This was the only group shot I got of the kids.
Carter, Aubrey, Charlotte (6), Jack (10), Sage (8) and Sam (4)

Once it got dark it was hard to take pictures. We did a hay maze and then the kids danced the night away with a fun DJ.
After the event we all went to have dinner.  Before we meet up at the zoo we had to hit up the new Cafe Rio in Fresno we are so excited!
What a fun day!
