March 2021

March always starts out on a great note!! We get to celebrate one awesome dude on March 3rd!
Happy Birthday Dad!
March 3rd was a Wednesday this year. The plus side of COVID is that dad works from home a lot so we can can fit in birthday celebrations through out the entire day.
In the morning we did gifts and had breakfast.

Then we worked out in our gym.  I went and got him all his favorite Indian entrees for lunch and made our own Indian Buffet since the buffet is still not open yet.
March 3rd was also picture day at Aubrey's school.  Even though she was learning virtual they put together a picture day so the kids could come on campus and take pictures and get their ID's.  She was excited to go and check out her school for the first time.  She looks so beautiful!
That night we went to Agave's dads favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner.

It's so funny that Carter likes the pancakes at a Mexican restaurant!  He says they are they best!
Then we came home for table prizes and a movie.
and of course his favorite carrot cake for dessert.

It was a great day!!!
Since his big 40 was during the time COVID was really bad I felt bad we didn't do anything big.  Since he did a surprise bday with my family on my birthday I thought he would never guess it if I thru him a friends surprise party.  He had been saying for months he wanted to host a couples game night at our new house and I thought this is the perfect opportunity.  Planning a surprise party is rough!! I tell Spencer anything and everything so keeping that 8 of our close friends were coming over Friday March 5th to surprise him was really difficult.  Thank goodness I had Aubrey who helped me a lot.  I had huge plans of baking and making finger foods but when Spence decides he is going to be home the entire day on Friday I had to get crafty and think of a new plan.  Trying to get balloons and a cake in the house without him seeing was a challenge.  Then came the time for him to leave to go do a couple errands with Aubrey and pick them up dinner.  He was under the impression that him and I were going on a date.  I sent him to Target, Lowes, and McDonald's thinking that would give me an hour and a half to get the pizza delivered and all the friends here to hide.  Well I didn't account for the fact that Spencer in the store shops a lot faster than I do and Aubrey was freaking out when all the shopping was done in 10 minutes!! I had to call friends and say come earlier and I had to beg Spencer to go back to Target to get me something I knew that would be hard to find. It was so stressful! But it all worked out and Aubrey did a wonderful job and he was so surprised!

We had a great time eating dinner, talking and playing games.

It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to see our friends again soon.
The days are getting warmer around here so Carter sometimes does his zoom class poolside.
While out on my walk I saw these huge kites at the park so I ran home and got the kids. They were huge and really fun to watch.

Sunday March 7th we did something I have been wanting to do as a family for so long! We went up to Mariposa and went on a beautiful 4 mile hike.  The weather was amazing and we had a wonderful time being out in nature all together.

We brought the dogs too and they loved it!

After our long hike we worked up an appetite.
We got to have a yummy burger from Happy Burger.
Friday March 12th was twin day.  Aubrey and Mia matched for zoom school.
That day I also took the kids out to Jantz for lunch.
Aubrey had a band assignment to take a picture with her instrument.
I think this is one my favorite pictures of my darling daughter!
The kids had fun with some chalk....

Rango is growing like crazy.  We love him so much!
The day was finally here for Carter! March 15th was the first day back to school for 3rd-6th grade students.  The schedule was a whole lot different! He had class in person Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30am-11:30am and virtual school on Wednesday form 8:30am-10am.  Masks are required and when it is recess you can only play with the kids from your class.  The class size was also different only 15 kids.  It's crazy that school had been out for a whole year and this was how we were returning.  Carter was just so excited to get to see his teacher and friends in person. Aubrey was devastated that Jr. high was not allowed to go back but we have hopes that they will after spring break.  Carter laid out his first day of school outfit.
Yay the day was here! Carter looked so cute in his new outfit and ready to go!
He was one handsome Dude!
He was a little nervous but I think what helped with his nerves was that I was going with him!!!
I was offered a long term sub job at Peterson in the 3rd grade.  Since a lot of people some being teachers are still very worried about COVID the district hired a few subs to be the teacher in those classes.  I was so excited to get to be in Mrs. Carter's class.  She was Carters 3rd grade teacher and we have become friends.  It was a great job! I get to be at school with my kido, I'm off by 11:30am, I have Wednesdays off and Mrs. Carter was still teaching virtual I was just in the classroom with the kids assisting so it was super easy and fun.  Oh and another plus they pay me full day even though I'm only working 3 hours.  It's a win win!
I was sad to be away from my fur babies
and Aubrey but I knew they were okay and together.  Plus Dad tried to be home most of the time.
Wednesdays were the best because we were all home all day!
It was awesome that St. Patrick's Day landed on a Wednesday!!
Lucky Charms for breakfast....

A green brain snack at 10 (I tried to always do a snack mid morning and called it their brain snack)
A green/shamrock lunch...
After school the kids made fruity pebble rice krispie treats which were to die for!
My adorable little leprechauns....

We did a fun drawing in the afternoon.
And then had our traditional corn beef and cabbage for dinner..

and the yummy dessert made by the kids...
Working in the classroom nowadays looks a whole lot different.....
Friday March 19th we drove up to Sonora for the weekend.  Friday night Nana and Papa watched the kids and I took Spencer out for another Birthday celebration.  We went up to the casino and had a wonderful dinner at Five Sister's and did some gamboling.   It was a fun night out!

Saturday the 20th we went up to Ironstone to see all the beautiful flowers and have a picnic.  The daffodils and tulips up in the Sonora area are amazing in the month of March!

We found a great place for a nice picnic.  Feels so great to get to go out and do things as a family again.

Aubrey and Titi making soda bread for our 2nd traditional corn beef and cabbage dinner with all of us.

After dinner Spencer got to open gifts for his birthday.

It was a great weekend!
Back to school on Monday.
I like to spy on my little guy...
Saturday March 27th Carter and I went on a hike with the cub scouts...

We had a picnic lunch too. Dad packed it, he is the cutest!

It was already getting pretty hot in March! So on our way home we stopped for some yogurt.
Aubrey has been busy working on a beautiful knit project...

Tuesday March 30th the Jr. High had a round up for 7th graders.  Since they are going back after spring break the school invited the 7th graders to come and tour the campus and see where their class are.  I took Aubrey and friends.  They LOVED it!
Wednesday March 31st Aubrey had a science experiment day on zoom.
Also Titi came down for the day! It was fun having lunch and doing a little shopping with her.
and that was our March 2021! Things are defiantly opening up more so we have hopes that this summer will be a lot different than 2020!
