Thursday May 2nd was our guys 9th birthday!! It was a perfect day!!! Carter originally wanted to take the entire day off of school. When he told Mrs. Carter he was not going to be at school on Thursday she begged him to come in for a couple hours since that whole week was state testing. Carter didn't want to disappoint his teacher so he told me he was going to go just for a couple hours and that I could pick him at 11am. Carter was so excited waking up to his door full of pictures.....
and all his decorations downstairs...
Carter decided to only open one gift in the morning and save the rest for later in the day.
Blue chocolate chip pancakes and donuts for breakfast, yummy!
Carter made his own Birthday shirt this year! Since his party was going to be a "glow" party he used glow in the dark paints. He also picked out the font and what it was going to say....
Since he decided to go to school kind of last minute we wanted to bring a treat to share with his friends so we ran to Raley's before school started.
Carter had a lot of fun at school for a couple hours! He was happy because the test was Math and he loves math. He also liked passing out his cookies and everyone singing to him. He was ready to go waiting for me in the office when I got there at 11am!
We had the best mommy and Carter date that day!!!
Up first lunch at his favorite place....
Yep you guessed it! McDonald's.
The happy meal toy were these cute avengers figures. The lady was so cute and gave Carter one for his birthday and then we bought a happy meal and an extra figure to start his collection!
Dad even came and saw us real quick and saw all our new toys and ended up going to a couple other McDonald's and finding some more. We love collecting things!
After lunch Carter and I went to the nickle arcade. The guy that works there was so cool and treated Carter like a King! He got lots of extra tickets and coins. There were a few college kids there too. That were also spoiling Carter with their winnings. Once the big kids left it was just Carter and I and it felt so cool! It was like I rented the arcade out just for Carter! We had a blast playing and winning lots of tickets.
After all our gaming we headed to Yogurtlicious for a yummy treat!
I love my cool dude!
Then it was off to pick Aubrey up!
Once at home Aubrey and I put together a fun scavenger hunt for Carter to find all his gifts....
Aubrey's favorite hiding place was in his bed. Can you spot the gift?.....
After all the gifts were found it was opening time....
This was his favorite gift.....
Then we had had Carter's favorite dinner mac and cheese with lots of hot dogs! We also did table prizes then too...
After dinner Carter had a baseball game.....
After the game the team all sang happy birthday to Carter!
Then we came home and had an Oreo ice cream cake that that I made for him...
What a great Birthday!!!
Here are Carter's answers for his birthday board....
Dear Carter,
Can you believe you are 9!! The last time you will be a single digit number! You melt my heart with your sweet loving spirit! I love that you give me so many hugs and still love our snuggle time together. I love that you always protect me! If I'm having a bad day you always want to make it better. When you jump out of the car on days I'm dropping you off at school and you look at me and say "Mom have a great day" with a huge smile I want to freeze time! You are my special little guy that I hope will always want to hang with his mom! You are a great friend to so many people. Every day you have a new story to tell about a new kid you played with at recess. Everyone knows you at school you are so popular! You tell the best jokes and keep us all laughing with your random comments. You love video games and playing with your cousin Davey. You also have started playing Magic with dad and continue to bet him quite frequently! You have no time to eat which frustrates me like no other! You are super skinny and run super fast. Your energy level is off the charts! You continue to be good at any sport you try. Track & Field is your favorite. You love to read and are the librarians favorite student! You do great in school!!! You are just the BEST! Dad and I could have never asked for a better son. We love you so very much!!!
