July 2016

July was another super fun month! We started it off right with getting lots of fireworks for our family party on 7/3.
Since we were actually in town this year on the 4th we were excited to go our church 4th of July party.  We usually miss it every year.  They have a bike parade so the kids were excited to get their bikes all ready for the big day.

We put Carter's training wheels back on so he felt comfortable at the party.  But this last weekend we took them off and he is a total training wheel free guy!
Sunday 7/3 we had a BBQ with Nana, Papa, Titi and Gaga.  Spencer always out does himself with the best BBQ tri-tip and chicken.

Laura's patriotic pie was to die for good! We all decided we really like blue berry pie (I don't think I have ever had it before).
While we waited for it get dark we played a really fun family game on the TV that requires you to use your phone or ipad.

It was dusk and had cooled down so we all went outside to get the firework party started.

Spencer put on a wonderful show and before we knew it our neighbors had joined in to watch.

Monday July 4th we went to the church's pancake breakfast.  It was a lot of fun! Really HOT but fun.

I'm so lucky to belong to ward that has so many young mom's like me.  We all get along really well and it's always a fun time hanging out while the kids play.
That afternoon we vegged out on the couch and watched movies to stay cool.  Then that evening we went to the Callister's for a BBQ and swim party.  The kids loved the tractor ride.

That night we went to see the big firework show in Atwater out at the prison with a few friends.  It was a great 4th of July weekend.
Wednesday 7/7 we invited Violette to come to the pool with us.  I think we spent pretty much every afternoon at the pool this summer.  I love the gym!

That night we celebrate both Amy and Bri's birthday at a yummy crepe place.

Friday 7/8 we had our new favorite take out, Domino's! I had know idea there food is so cheap, easy and yummy! The kids love it so it was a movie night with pizza, those are the best! We also made some unicorn poop (GAK) that evening.

Saturday we took the kids to the movie we all were waiting for, Secret Life of Pets.  So adorable!! This summer there have been so many fun movies!

Monday 7/10 Was the first day of the 3rd section of College for Kids.  The kids picked to do Splash Ball together.  It's beginning water polo and the kids LOVED it.  I'm actually considering signing them up for the fall (they offer a year long program too).  It was a lot of fun to watch and they both got even better at their swimming.  It made me nervous having them in 14 feet deep water but they did great.  Nana got to take them the first day since I was working.  They have had so much fun with Nana getting spoiled once a week when she comes to watch them.

Wednesday July 13th Aubrey was invited to Reid's Harry Potter birthday party.  She had a blast!

While she was at he party I took Carter to the arcade he loves it!

After we picked Aubrey up she tried one of those crazy Harry Potter jelly beans I think it was the booger flavor! So gross!
We got lots of great grapes this summer in our garden.

Friday July 15 we went to Fair in Turlock to see Kelly Pickler.  We had it all planned to do a date night and my sister was coming out to baby sit but then we decided it would be more fun to make it a family night so we all went and had fun at the fair.  Poor Carter was sick that morning but assured us that he was fine to go to the fair.  He was doing good and then he barfed as we were walking around.  Poor guy! You would never know in these pictures.

By the evening time Carter was feeling much better so we stayed for a little on the concert.

and to play some games.  Carter won a tiger all on his own and Aubrey won a donut stuff pillow.

It was a really fun day/evening and it was fun to have Titi there with us.

Saturday morning we ended up sneacking a date to the gym together.

after our workout we picked up the gang and grabbed some Five Guys before going swimming.

We got to have Chelsea, Alex and Ruby over for lunch.

The second to last day of splash ball they let the kids jump off the diving boards.  They both loved the lower one.
and of course my dare devil son liked the high dive.  He was actually a little hesitant about it so the couch jumped in to catch him.
Carter had a play date at Andersons so Aubrey and I had some much needed girl time.  We went and got our nails done and out for some Jumba Juices.

Thursday 7/21 was the last day of Splash ball.

We got busy doing some fun crafts as July was ending.

Spencer and I got to have a date night 7/22
Saturday 7/23 was just a fun day! We did the arcade, frozen yogurt, dinner out, shopping at Target just a party day!

Monday 7/25 the kids came with me to work.  Stan took us on a ride in his convertible to get lunch.

Tuesday 7/26 the kids and I went up to Sonora to go to Nana and Papa camp for a week.  We had so much fun being with them and doing all the fun stuff Papa had planned for us.  First up mini golf!

Wednesday 7/26 mom took us to the pottery paint place downtown.  The kids had a wonderful time picking out there pottery and making them amazing master pieces.

After our morning of painting we came home to drop mom off and pick the boys up to go to Mercer Caverns.  In the gift shop we all tried worms before or tour.

These miners are too cute for words.

The cavern was really cool.  I had gone a long time ago but this was the kids first time.  There were so many stairs and lots of walking but the kids did great.

It was so fun learning about everything.  The kids favorite part was when the tour guide turn out all the lights and showed us how it was in the olden days before electricity.

It was a really field trip! I love my dads adventure side and how he gets us to do this fun stuff.

Thursday 7/28 we got to go visit Great Grandpa.  This was a very special visit for us and I'm so glad we got to share this time with him.  Two days after this visit he had a heart attack and was helicoptered to Modesto.  He got very sick after that and since he was 89 they didn't do surgery.  He was able to go back to Sonora and a week later passed away.  It has been very hard for all of us and I will do another post about that after this one.  I was so grateful that we had this time with him and that our last memory with him was hanging out and laughing.  We love you Great Grandpa!!!
After our visit dad papa took the kids on a picnic and to rock climb while mom and I had a date out to lunch and shopping.  It was nice having some one on one time with my mom.
Thursday night we went to the casino for dinner and to play in the arcade.

It was a wonderful Nana and Papa camp!
Friday we got to see great grandpa and then came home to daddy he was so excited to see us.
Saturday 7/30 was Spencer and I's 11 year wedding anniversary.  We debated going out of town but decided it would be fun to just stay local and do all things we like to do.  Work out, Pool and eat lol.  We also wanted to go out as a date night that night with all of us.  We went to the drive-ins to see Ice Age.  We thought it was so cool because they had a double feature and we thought for sure the kids would be a sleep after the first one and then Spencer and I could watch the second one which was Ghostbusters.  Well Spencer and I were the ones to fall asleep and the kids watched both! LOL it was a fun night!

7/31 on a walk at sunset with my little guy and Deuce.
We will miss you July!
